Magazine Photograph Evidence

Magazine Main PhotosThe main photos I plan to take for my magazine will be based off of an image I found featured in an article online. I plan to take my photos in a similar style and edit them similar.

InspirationBelow is the image I will be using as a reference. The photograph is of a young male sat against what appears to be an urban or industrial setting. The actual photo is of a music producer called Mister Lies. He is one of my inspirations so therefore I will use this as reference material

My PhotographsMy photographs will be taken in an urban or industrial looking environment much like my reference photograph. My model will be dressed in trendy/urban clothing. He will be male and bare the blank look much like the reference model. As my magazine is featuring an underground artist the photo will be expected to be like this as this type of imagery is associated with urban and unground themes. He will be male and in the age bracket of 7-24 which I feel will represent and appeal to the target audience of my magazine.

EditingAfter I have taken my photographs and I am happy with them I will start the editing process. I will wish to add a black and white washed out filter to the photographs. It will give them an old style effect and an urban message.

Editing my Photographs

These are the original photos that I have taken. As you can see the setting of the photographs is very urban. I took the photographs down by a desolate canal beside an unused mill. The model bares a blank disconcerning look on his face. This gives the photos a more natural look. The natural look can also been seen in the natural poses and positioning of the model. There is no message of dominance coming from the photographs. This message represents the genre and type of music that the artist in the photo creates. It is acknowledging that the genre he is into is not mainstream and is underground.

As said before and you can see below, I have edited the photos to give them a black and white urban washed out feel. The saturation has been completely removed and the contrast and light balance slightly tweaked.
