Amsterdam 2007The sense of the City >
Let me introduce myself: my name is Réka Raffay. I was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1985. I have a deep routed interest in visual arts since my early childhood. At high school I learned on Media Faculty and started to specialize myself in the field of photography. In 2004, I was accepted to the University of Kaposvár, where I spent my following five years on the Faculty for Photojournalism and Picture editing. In the last two years I had several opportunities to try myself in this profession. I have studied a semester in Norway in 2007 with a scholarship at Volda University College, where I had a chance to become acquainted with the History of Japan and the application of wood in Architecture. In 2008-2009 I have studied two semesters at the University of Hertfordshire on the Faculty of Graphic design and Illustration.
I am a member of “S=EEE”, which is a self-organizing group of artists focused on the frontier of photography and typography. In 2009 I was working a year for the leading Hungarian daily political newspaper as an online editor. At the same time I did my first Camino, where I took a photo essay, which was my graduation work with excellent grade. Now, in this year’s summer, I did my second Camino. This one was a pilgrimage for my pictures as well. I did approximately 20 exhibitions in different places enroute.
During the last ten years I had several chances to widen my horizon and attain knowledge in different fields of this profession, such as in reportage-, studio-, fashion-, portrait-, advertisement-, interior-, or building photography. However, for me the most important thing is to do my profession with passion.
