Two of the basic parameters of human performance that aremeasured using psychophysical methods are accuracy (i.e.,validity) and precision (i.e., reliability). These two measures areclosely related to concepts encountered in most psychologycourses.

The package presented here consists of five independentmodules. Three of the modules will give you hands-onexperience learning about psychophysical methods typicallyused to measure accuracy and precision. These methods arethe Method of LimitsMethod of Limits, the Method of Constant StimuliMethod of Constant Stimuli, and theMethod of AdjustmentMethod of Adjustment. The other two modules will give youhands-on experience learning about how to apply the conceptsof accuracy and precision. This will be done by examining theMueller-Lyer Illusion and Weber's Law. Within each of themodules you will be given (a) a clear description of theobjectives of the module, (b) hands-on experience collectingand analyzing data pertinent to the module, (c) the opportunityto take an online quiz designed to test how well youunderstand the key concepts, and (d) the opportunity to varythe parameters of the program and thus design your ownexperiments.
