The yellow carpet was rolled out at the Hollywood Bowl for a screening of “Jane,” a recently released documentary by National Geographic about the life of Dr. Jane Goodall, best known for studying the social and family interactions of chimpanzees for more than five decades. A host of celebrities were there to celebrate the film, including Goodall, director of the film Brett Morgan and composer Philip Glass.

“Jane” featured never-before-seen footage captured by Goodall’s former husband, the late Hugo van Lawick, a world-renowned photographer and cinematographer.

“I have a very important message to take around the world, which is that we’re destroying this planet and that we need to get together to try and make change,” Goodall told the audience at the event.

Point Dume resident, former actress and photographer Lyndie Benson launched her new clothing line, Bleusalt, to a crowd at the Ranch at the Pier on a Saturday evening this fall. Malibu tastemakers and owners of the restaurant at the end of Malibu Pier, Alice Bamford and Ann Eysenring, hosted the party, which featured trays of hors d’oeuvres and some famous faces. The bash was attended by a slew of local stars, including Cindy Crawford, Sara Foster, Jennifer Meyer and Lisa Rinna.

Benson aims to capture the chic Malibu lifestyle in her clothes, described as luxury sweat pants or elevated athleisure wear, made from “the softest fibers on earth.”

Bleusalt is currently available for purchase at Ranch at the Pier or at bleusalt.com.
