The 9th Dental Facial Cosmetic International Conference (#9DFCIC) 03-04 November 2017 in
Dubai closed with a total of 3027 dental participants. The event built on the success of last
years conference with several significant events which took place during the five days of
continuing dental education (#CME) including the Dental Facial Cosmetic main Scientific
Conference, Dental Hygienist Seminar, Dental Toothpaste Consensus, Poster Presentation,
Exhibition, CME Training Zones at the Exhibition, 20 Hands-On Training Courses, Dr. CAPP
contest and the Appreciation Dinner. Next to that, the event welcomed newcomers, providers
and expert delegates from over 47 countries who gathered during the conference days at the
InterContinental Hotel, DFC in Dubai.
The organizers, #CAPP achieved for a consecutive ninth edition a great record of attendance
and continued to grow the established reputation as the regionals leading international dental
scientific conference organizer by providing high level continuing dental education. In 2018
dental delegates will have the opportunity to attend the milestone 10th edition of this important
international event.

Dental Hygienist Seminar welcomed a total of 303 dentalhygienists including hot topic presentations on oral care,prevention, evidence-based dentistry, oral cancer screening,peri-implantitis, working posture, dental implants andperiodontics inter relation, management of haemophiliapatients, maintaining tooth and implant supportedrestorations. 7 International Speakers gave their bestinterpretations of what is advisable for the Dental Hygienistprofession. The event further included 4 hands-on coursesfeaturing two sessions of Enhanced Biofilm Management,Working Posture, and Periodontal Instrumentation andSharpening trainings.

The consensus was led by Professor Hien Chi Ngo, Dean of College of Dental Medicine of the
University of Sharjah and Dr. Elias Berdouses, Board Member of Emirates Pediatric Dental
Club. The consensus was achieved by the Delphi methodology (A structured survey approach
conducted in multiple rounds of questionnaires and answers. It is regarded as a systematic,
interactive forecasting method relying on a group panel of experts*), resulting in an unbiased

Year after year dental delegates from across the region travel to #DFCIC inDubai to present their latest scientific researched cases, studies andnovelties through poster presentations. Poster presentations allow the authorto meet and get introduced informally with interested viewers, facilitatinggreater exchange of ideas and networking opportunities. This is an importantintroductory for investigators at important scientific meetings such as the#DFCIC. This year was no different with a total of three winners with eachparticipant receiving appreciations not only from the organizers but as well assponsored awards from Philips Sonicare and Compass.
