Neha.Bhatia @timesgroup.com T he two-day 45th National Management Convention of All India Management Association focussed on the future of the country and how to scale up the country's economic growth. Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog, in his keynote address at the convention said that there has been a paradigm shift in terms of innovation that has taken place in India. "It is important that the private sector keeps pace with the government in using innovation and driving change in India. The size and scale of what the government is doing is phenomenal," he said. Earlier, on the first day of the convention, Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India, in a special session of Aap ki Adalat, had said that we should fight on ideology and programmes and all parties should raise the level of politics. Commenting on rising petrol prices, he suggested that the best way to solve the problem is to use alternative fuels and do away with oil imports. We can reduce the price of LPG cylinder by Rs 100 by using methanol, which is made from coal and is priced at Rs 22 and has the same calorific value as diesel. Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Government of India, in a video message, said that India is poised for a huge growth and in 2017-18 India registered the highest growth of exports, which was on a decline for a few years. He also mentioned that they were working on district level growth in India and were also working on new industrial policy, agriculture export policy, and transformative measures for logistics. As India enjoys the demographic dividend, it is up to us how we use it for our advantage. Supriya Shrinate, Executive Editor-News, ET Now, moderated a discussion on how the Indian youth can reshape the society and work towards improving the country's position globally. The panelists included Vineet Agarwal, Managing Director, Transport Corporation of India Ltd; Pranav Pai, Founding Partner and Chief Investment Officer, 3one4 Capital; Ayaan Ali Bangash, Sarod Master & Composer; Jayant Prasad Paleti, Co-Founder, Darwinbox; and Roshan Shankar, Advisor to the Government of NCT of Delhi and Member, Aam Aadmi Party. The second plenary session of the day was moderated by Pranjal Sharma, Author, Kranti Nation: India and the Forth Industrial Revolution. Panelists T V Mohandas Pai, President, AIMA and Chairman, Manipal Global Education Services; Akhil Bansal, Deputy CEO, KPMG in India; Ravi Uppal, Former Managing Director & Group CEO, Jindal Steel & Power; and Rahul Gangal, Partner, Roland Berger; discussed India in the context of 4th Industrial Revolution, its impact and challenges. "In industry 4.0, what you see is the level of automation that has gone up, may be by five times, with robotics and AI. Right from the consumer the entire chain gets automated," said Mohandas Pai.
