In music class we often usedinstruments to add a soundscape tosome of our favourite stories. If youforget what a soundscape is, watchthis video. Primary K-3 Students:If you are a primary student you mightremember using the Xylophones andHand Drums when we read Mortimerby Robert Munsch. This week you have the opportunity tocreate your own story soundscape athome, using the instrument you madelast week or objects that you can findaround your house!  As you listen to the We’re Going on aBear Hunt read aloud, add in yourown sound effects using instrumentsand objects you have at home tocreate a soundscape.

A good laugh is sunshine in the house. — William Thackeray

We are starting to see a change in theweather and we know physical activitycan make us feel great! This week theactivities are all about being a littlesilly. Of course our safety rules are still#1! Make sure you are in an area bigenough for everyone who is playingto move freely and there is nofurniture or other objects in the way.Are you in bare feet on a floor thatis not slippery? Put a Kleenex on your head and moveand groove to the music! When themusic stops; freeze! It is not as easy asit looks! You can make it a familychallenge too. Divide the players intotwo teams and give a point to eachplayer who keeps their Kleenex ontheir head during a round. If your Kleenex falls to the floor be sure to pick it up right away so that no one slips on it.

Make sure you and your child have watched THIS VIDEODecide if your child/children require direct supervision to complete the activities

Hello Students & Families!  Here are this week’s voluntary Phys-Ed, Media and Music activities. If you choose to completesome or all of the activities and would like to share them with us please feel free to e-mail yourwork to Mrs. MacKenzie ([email protected]), Mrs. Rich ([email protected]) and/or MissHarrison ([email protected]). You can print the activities or just write your responses on ablank piece of paper and take a picture.  Parents & Guardians, before allowing your child/children to do any of the activities...

All activities carry the possibility of inherent risks, including slips, falls, collisions with objects orothers, injury, and exposure to unexpected internet content.  We hope you are all staying safe and making the best of this time at home together. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead, Mrs. MacKenzie, Mrs. Rich and Miss Harrison

As you listen to this song it will giveyou reminders about what makes abook fiction or nonfiction. Fiction is full of characters, a plot and asetting. In nonfiction it is real-lifeknowledge that you’re getting!

To do this activity you will need a fewpairs of socks and a partner. Partner #1 makes a shape they canhold safely for a few minutes. Partner#2 places pairs of socks on Partner#1’s body. The challenge is for oneperson to hold the shape and theother person to find places to balancethe socks. Of course the ultimatechallenge is not to giggle!
