Dear SPX Family, Tis the Season! As we move into the Advent season and the month of December, let us all remember the real reason for this wonderful time of the year. As “life” gets busy and the calendar fills up with all the activities, programs, and the hustle of the holiday spirit, take time to reflect on all the blessings that have been bestowed upon us this year and remember our Lord, Jesus Christ and the coming of our Savior during this month. I would like to take this time also to inform all parents that beginning in January 2017, we will no longer be serving breakfast or opening our gates at 7 am. As we tried to accommodate early morning breakfast, we have found that the service has not been utilized to justify in keeping a breakfast service. Therefore, on January 4th, when classes resume after the holiday break, drop off for all students will go back to being 7:25 am. The gates will then be opened for students to enter the premises as they do each school day. Also, please be advised that all students should be dropped off and picked up at either the lower or upper carpool lanes, depending on your child’s grade level. Please see the handbook if you have questions as to where your child should be. The front doors should not be used for drop off. Students will be directed to go to the gate entrance if they are dropped off before 7:50 am. ONLY late arrival stu-dents should be entering through the front doors. I thank you in advance for your attention to these matters. Last, please take note that this month there are many activities and programs scheduled. I encourage you to read this newsletter and the flyers attached for in-formation about upcoming events. Listed below are the next few week’s events. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the cooler weather, Sincerely, Tana Scott, Interim Principal

Ms. Wahlstrom says… Hi Parents— As our children get older, comments from classmates who

know too much can plant a seed of holiday doubt in their mind. This week and next, I found a few tips that might help restore your children’s belief in the man in the red suit and keep that Christmas magic going in your home for years to come.

NORAD Santa Tracker For more than 60 years, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has been tracking Santa's whereabouts on Christmas Eve using a myriad of data collection tools, ranging from satellites to jet fighters. The 2016 NORAD Tracks Santa website and apps will go live on December 1, offering a Christmas countdown, games and other activities, in addition to NORAD's iconic reports on Santa's travels come December 24.

Portable North Pole Through the Portable North Pole (PNP) app and website, parents can send their kids personalized videos direct from the North Pole. Video messages are free, but for an additional fee parents can buy their child more de-tailed personalization, views of Santa's village and news of whether they are on the naughty or nice list this year. Naughty or Nice Certificates A simple search on Etsy will provide parents with the tool they need to prove to their kids that Santa is always watching. Certificates stating whether a particular child has been deemed "naughty" or "nice" by the man in red can be purchased, personalized and printed from home.

In celebration of the Christmas season and the birth of Jesus, the children of St. Pius X will perform a Christmas concert on Thursday, 12/15/2016 at 7 pm in the school Parish Hall. All students will sing, dance and/or play instruments in our Christmas celebration. Please ensure that your child(ren) is here at 6 pm the evening of the performance. In regards to what the children should wear, I will be sending an email to each parent of each grade letting you know. Thank you! Mr. Diez - Music Teacher SPX
