I was born In Umbria, in the beautiful little town named Spoleto,
that I love so much.
I moved to Rome early in my life, when I was eleven, then I studied
in the schools of the capital, the secondary schools on humanities
at the “Liceo Terenzio Mamiani” and the two-year course in the
Department of Chemistry at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
I am widow, and I have two grown-up sons, with whom I share any
decision or choice: from holidays to the purchase of a house.
My social, politic and institutional engagement has always moved
towards the opportunity of a female growth.
Therefore, it has been characterized for the membership with “Unione Donne Italiane” (UDI), but also for
been interested in finding new female kinds of organization that could better fit with the emerging
challenges in the women’s world during last years.
My field of action has concerned female equality bodies, promoting of a female entrepreneurship, the
gender-balance representation, at all levels, and the relationship with other female context in European
countries.
Broadly speaking, I dealt with all the principal issues related with the female situation, and this has been for
me very interesting and rewarding.
Now I have a great responsibility: National Equality Councillor.
Nominated by the Minister of Labour, I am a public official who guarantees the respect of the equal
opportunities laws, fighting gender discrimination in the workplaces.
In this task, I am supported by a “network” of Equality Councillors which act at local levels: they work in
every administrative level called Regioni and Aree Vaste, so they can act in the respective district.
I can’t forget my cats, Cicciola and Mohamed, a female and a male who always go with me, and to whom I
unsuccessfully tried to teach the roles of a civil cohabitation.
This is my great failure: they always fight.
