MONIQUE JACOBS

Monique (Dillard) Jacobs currently lives in Rockford, IL, and was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada). Her love of quilting was nurtured by Canadian relatives who taught her the art of handwork and sewing. Over the years Monique has published books with C&T Publishing, and has developed specialty rulers to make quilting easier and faster. Block AssemblySTEP 1Sew a Main fabric 2½” x 6½” piece to a Background 2½” x 2½” piece. Press towards the Main fabric. Repeat to make 80 for the Throw quilt, 140 for the Twin quilt, and 234 for the Queen quilt.

Press half towards the Main fabric and half towards the Background.

STEP 3Sew the blocks together using the pieces from Steps 1 and 2 and the Main fabric 2½” x 8½” pieces. For the Throw quilt, make 20 with the Background on the top right and 20 with the Background on the top left. For the Twin quilt, make 35 with the Background on the top right and 35 with the Background on the top left. For the Queen quilt, make 59 with the Background on the top right and 58 with the Background on the top left. The blocks should measure 10 ½” x 8 ½”. Press in one direction.

Make 80 for the Throw quiltMake 140 for the Twin quilt

Make 234 for the Queen quilt

STEP 2Sew a Main fabric 2½” x 4½” piece to a Background 2½” x 4½” piece. Repeat to make 80 for the Throw quilt, 140 for the Twin quilt and 234 for the Queen quilt. Press half towards the Main fabric and half towards the Background.
