PDIF INSTITUTIONAL ARRANGEMENT

The meeting agreed to: i. Strengthen coordination and collaboration on sustainable

development issues at the national, regional and global levels engaging all sectors of society- public, private, and civil/non-government organisations;

ii. Provide an effective mechanism directly linking with the Pacific SIDS

Grouping in NY, UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, G7+, G77 & China, and other UN processes at the global level;

iii. Establish a Secretariat outside of the Fiji Ministry of Affairs; and,

iv. Establish a Working Group with representatives drawn from all

sectors of society to consult, assess and propose options for a long term institutional arrangement for the PIDF for consideration at the 2nd PIDF Meeting. (A TOR will be made available out of session).
