I met with Ahia James and Achi Keren mid January of this year for small group everyThursday.Wewoulddiscussandstudyversesanditsdailylife implications. Itisagoodwayfor me to keep grounded in my faith and not to compromise to the things of the worldbecause asa student,one goes through manytrialsand temptationsthatare difficult toovercome without proper guidance.This was especiallychallenging forme because myfamilyisintheprovinceandIwouldonlygettoseethemeverysooften.Itis importantforChristianstudentstohavesomeonetotalktoaboutthingsthatwearefacingsothatwemayberemindedofkeepingourfaithstrong,andthisiswhoAhiaJamesandAchiKerenaretome.TheyopenedtheirwonderfulhousetomeandIalwayshavegoodafternoonsessionswiththem.Itisverycomfortingtoknowthattherearepeoplewhoareprayingforyou indifficulttimes.Theyare indeedGodsblessingtomeandIpraythattheymaytouchthelivesofmanyotherstudentsandnon-studentsalike!CiarraKing

CiarraisamemberofUnitedEvangelicalChurchofGeneralSantosandiscurrentlyasenioratAteneomajoringBSLegalManagement.Sheintroducedustooneofherclassmates,Aloy,whohappenstohaveattendedthesahighschoolasJameshad!Aloyiscurrentlyseekingacommunityoffaithwherehecan growspiritually.Whileidentifieshimselfasa RomanCatholic,Aloyis verykeen and eagertostudytheBible.It isourprayerthatasmeet him to read the BibletogetherthatJamescansharethegospeltoh

andintroducehimtotheLordJesusChrist.

We are thankful that in our ministry we have topportunity to minister to and train young peowho come from otherchurches and also topartwith them in reaching their unbelieving frienCurrently we have Bible studies everyday froTuesdays through Saturdays. Though these ausuallygroupsofoneto oneoronetotwo, weahoping that in the coming monthsthe peopleare meeting with would invite more of thunbelievingfriendstojoinusaswell.

meeting is to have a regularly scheduled event that ispe n f or a ll , b el ie ve rs a nd u nb el ie ve rs a li ke .onsequently,wehave tried knocking onour neighborsoorstoinvitethemtopraywithushowever,withlittleuccess.Theonlyonewho hasassented tojoinusis our

ranian neighbor, Houman, who is currently doingoctoralstudiesincivilengineeringatUP.Hecameand

oined us on two occasionsbefore he went back to Iranorholidays. Jamesgave himan EnglishBible, whichhe

wasveryhappytoreceive.Ontheaverage,wehavelesshan fivepeople attendingour PrayerMeeting although

weareexpectingthisnumbertoincreaseasthesummerermlendsto thenewschoolyearinJune.We havealsoeen able to successfully invite our vegetablerovider, Charlene to join us. She came once onlyecauseitturnsoutthatherCatholicPrayerGroup

lso meets on Wednesday evenings. We areurrently working out whether we can do a joint

meetingwithhergroupsometime.

ast May 8-11, James and Keren participated inhe 3rd CCOWE-ETF Conference held at HarborightsinCagayandeOroCity.This yearstheme

was All of Grace and saw the participation ofver 80 delegates from different Chinesehurches across the Philippines. James anderenserve onthecommitteeof CCOWE-ETF

hilippines and helped organize this trainingvent.

reach as we challenge the students to invite their friends

and classmates.Wehave found that the best wayto

reachnewpeopleinoursettingisthroughreferralsas

people tend to be suspicious of strangers, even if

thesearetheirneighbors.

James and Keren are participating in a number of

activitiessponsoredbytheGoodFoodCommunity(our

vegetableprovider!)in thecoming weeksandhope to

be ableto meet newfriends.Jamesis actuallydoing a

cookingdemoinanupcomingcommunitykitchenand

request that you pray that he can cookto Godsglory

and alsohelptheattendeesto learn howto cook anew
