Pimp your work laptop to be the best set up for IT student life !Keeping it simple was my goal, a nice set up for a first year student.

Coming into this challenge as a first year student with little background knowledge

about I.T myself I decided to set out and build a very user friendly basic setup that any

new student to nmit could use but of course with some “beeedaaazzle”

Back up Booty? Backing up your laptop is no easy job without an external harddrive but

luckily i was able to find a cloud type server which is where i decided to back up my

computer. (Idrive) But what's all this information worth without proper protection?? So

my next step was to find a very strong but yet user friendly virus protector so i went with,

avast and malwarebytes - also added ccleaner just to easily optimise the laptop and

keep it running quickly. Running these scans at least once a week should keep you up

to date with all your protection.

Gear stick and dashboard? using fences and rainmeter i was able to create a very

smooth looking home screen, not only dose fences enable you to group together folders

you can also label them therefore helping those messy students who just cram save

everything on there home sort their….stuff….out.i also took maximum advantage of

google chrome's bookmark and tool bar, having a adblocker to keep them pesky pop

ups away and also pinning some of the more importants stuff down. :ie moodle, gmail

ect.

Where ur homies at? Since most of my homies are out and about ya know it's important

that we can still keep in touch, so my brothers and i decided to collaborate an come up

with a plan check it - we BOOKMARK everything, ya know we got my homies

instagram, gmail, blog,moodle twitter and anything else i might be needing at the time

ya dig! now my ride is Looking smooth and slick i'm sure anybody would be more than

happy with this fine piece of work.
