G30 DRIVER #1 WITH PROS, CONSUMERS
STELLAR PING CONTINGENT AT WGC EVENT IN CHINA
PING pros’ enthusiasm for the G30 driver is a sentiment shared by consumers, who made the model #1 in sales for September
in the U.S. and the United Kingdom. Currently, 72% of PING PGA Tour
pros (13 of 18 players) utilize the G30 driver. In Europe the figure is 88% (15 of 17). Angel Cabrera won with the driver in its first week on the PGA Tour. Bubba Watson put the G30 driver in his bag that same week and finished the season No. 1 in average driving distance at 314.3 yards. Billy Horschel’s switch to the model gained him 12-plus yards and helped him win the FedExCup.
Among the golfing public, the driver with its Turbulator Technology was #1 in units and dollars in the on- and off-course retail channels combined for September, according to Golf Datatech LLC, which tracks golf equipment sell-thru data for the U.S. and the UK.
NOVEMBER 03, 2014
PING’s most recognizable stars will be teeing it up this week at the
WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai. Four of the six will be relying on a G30 driver to try and capture the marquee tournament.
Masters champ Bubba Watson, FedExCup
winner Billy Horschel, Barclays title holder Hunter Mahan, and Miguel Ángel Jiménez will all have the G30 driver (and S55 irons) in their bags when the event begins Thursday. Also in the field are Louis Oosthuizen and Lee Westwood.
THE G30 DRIVER WAS TOPS IN SALES DURING SEPTEMBER IN THE U.S. AND THE UK.
BUBBA WATSON
Proving that making a hole-in-one never gets old, Lee Westwood was elated to make the 15th ace of his career on the 226-yard 11th hole in the second round of CIMB Classic in Malaysia. He relied on a G25 20º hybrid. “Well, that was a pretty special day,” Westwood tweeted. “It’s not often you see them go in from 226 yards!” It was one of two eagles on the week for Westwood. AZAHARA MUÑOZ WHAT’S IN THE BAG
Azahara Muñoz continued her season-long consistency Sunday, recording her third top-4
finish in recent events with a fourth at the Fubon 2014 LPGA Taiwan Championship.
With her G30 driver, she hit 46 of 56 fairways and averaged 260 yards off the tee. Consistency showed on the greens, where she relied on a Ketsch putter. Her putt totals by round were 28, 27, 27, 28. It was her ninth top 10 of the season.
