Dear Pingree Friends,

What an amazing time it is to be a part of the Pingree community! Every day seems to herald a new

beginning, whether it’s in a classroom, on a playing field, in our theater, or on our massive construction

sites.

Just this past academic year, I bore witness to astounding initiatives. We opened our Hub in the

Learning Commons, becoming a magnet and pilot for other schools looking to transform their

traditional libraries into teaching spaces for the new millennium. We launched two more classes using

iPads and online source material instead of classical textbooks, once again carefully assessing the

best practices and uses of technology rather than recklessly jumping on any bandwagons. The LAB

(Learning Across Borders) program sent two teachers to Armenia and hosted two Armenian teachers at

Pingree in hopes of initiating a future student exchange. Student exchanges to Spain and Taiwan and

an exploratory trip by teachers to Mexico rounded out the year’s activities abroad. Students will also

travel to Denmark and England next year.

I could go on and on. Drive down the exit way and you’ll see for yourself the great progress on the arts

and athletics facilities that will open in September 2014 to accommodate our talented and exuberant

students. What’s invisible, but just as important, is the money we are raising for access, those funds

for financial aid and non-tuition expenses that allow students to participate in all aspects of a Pingree

education.

As you well know, all these accomplishments are made possible because of the generosity of our

donors. Tuition alone does not cover the cost. So, thank you to all those who made this a banner year

for the Pingree Fund.

We reached a record $950,625.19!

Whether your gift was $5, $500, $5,000, or $50,000, I thank you for helping us exceed our goal this year

in order to support our students with financial aid, classroom materials, athletic and arts supplies, faculty

compensation, and so much more. A record setting percentage of our current parents and alumni made

gifts to the Pingree Fund, up significantly from last year. Gifts from parents of alumni, grandparents, and

friends of Pingree School also made a meaningful impact on the life of

our school.

Together, we remain Proudly Pingree.

Each year, members of the Pingree community donate gifts to

the Pingree Fund in support of the School’s educational mission.

Pingree Fund donations are unrestricted income and are used to

attract and retain dedicated faculty, enrich curricular offerings, meet

emerging program needs, maintain Pingree’s beautiful

campus, support diverse classrooms through financial

aid and help bridge the gap between tuition income and

JOIN US…Led by the Board of Trustees, the Pingree community created a Campus Master Plan ten years ago. The first step was to build our Academic Center. In doing so, we signified our commitment to an outstanding academic experience for our students. Now it is the time to take the next steps and create the spaces necessary to support our flourishing arts and athletics programs.

While the improvement to our physical spaces is important, so is our commitment to increasing the access of a Pingree education to as many deserving and talented students as possible. That is why access is the third critical element of our campaign. We seek to raise endowment in order to increase financial aid as well as support the ancillary expenses of books, uniforms, trips, transportation and other elements that are essential to a Pingree education.
