Open Transition Transfer Pair (OTTP)
The OTTP operates as a standard transfer switch utilizing two circuit breakers to perform the transfer function.
No soft loading (utility paralleling) Ideal for standby application where a single
generator provides automatic emergency backup power.
Performs ATS function as well as having overcurrent protection all within the same equipment.
Switch type ATS requires additional circuit breakers to protect the ATS.
9
Soft Loading Isolated Mode (SLIM)
Closed transition soft loading device that parallels a single generator to a single utility source. Transfer of power between sources is seamless.
Controls perform active synchronization of the generator output and the utility.
As allowed by the utility, typical parallel time during power transfer is 10 seconds to 2 minutes (adjustable).
Reliable emergency backup capabilities plus bumpless transfer back to the utility when utility power returns.
Peakshaving / load management applications possible.
16
SLIE & SLBL Modes
Closed transition soft loading device that parallels a single generator to a single utility source .
Controls perform active synchronization of the generator output and the utility. Extended parallel of the two sources as allowed by the utility. Soft Loading Import/Export:
─ Import Mode - Controls continuously monitor the utility net import level and adjust the output of the generator so that a pre-defined kW is always imported into the customer’s facility from the utility.
─ Export Mode - Controls continuously monitor the utility net export set point and adjust the output of the generator so that a pre-defined kW is always exported to the utility power grid.
Soft Loading Base Load:─ Operates at a base load (typically 80% of standby rating) so that the generated power will
either be utilized by the facility loads or exported to the utility based on the total facility kW loads and the generating capacity.
Multiple Generator Isolated Mode (MGIM)
Standard multiple generator emergency standby system with 2 to 8 (or more) generators paralleled to a common bus.
Generac on-board paralleling can be used.
Additional controls not required except for utility soft loading.
17
18
Multiple Generator Utility Paralleling (MGUP)
Standard multiple generator emergency standby system with utility paralleling capabilities. 2 to 8 (or more) generators paralleled to a common bus and then paralleled to a single or multiple utility sources.
PLC based System Master Control Can also be designed to operate as:
─ Utility paralleled in Import/Export mode ─ Utility paralleled Base Load mode
