Now, almost a year later, Scudder has $4.3 million in proposals, with a handful of jobs projected to close in the next six months.

A property management company sought to reduce the utility bills of

one of their apartment facilities still running off a legacy system. They

were looking to offset the energy use of the building’s common area

and pool. Additionally, they were looking to launch a green campaign

looking for investors.

We installed a 50kW system. Since the system had a 5-year payback

based on the electrical offset, it provided the value to their property

to cover the costs immediately. The company could now attract

new "impact investors" for them to increase their operating capital

to purchase more properties.

The management company that owned the complex was able

to show the system paying for itself the moment it was turned

on. This was based on the available tax credits and the fact that

they valued the system in their business model based on 5x the

annual savings. Since completing the first project, they have

done installations at three more properties, with plans to
