Physical Education

I need pictures of students for our ‘Commit to Be Fit’ photo wall. Please send a picture or a copy of a picture that shows your child as part of a team or being active outside of school; (ex: shooting hoops with your friends, riding bikes, roller skating, etc.).

Next, lace up your tennis shoes and get ready to move. We are going to shake things up a bit with Taekwondo instructor, Mr. David Dear. Mr. Dear will spend an entire week with us during the month of December. His lessons focus on listening/concentration, balance, coordination and muscle strengthening through a variety of games and exercises.

We will also play an exciting game of ‘Ten Bucks and a Bone’. Students will have to work, (exercise) together in teams of 4 or more to earn enough money, (P.E. bucks) to buy a bag of bones, (one bone at a time) and put the bones together correctly to form a human skeleton. This game is fun, educational, and offers great exercise opportunities. We will round out the month with Project Fit Bowling.

Art

Art students will make God’s Eyes in

December. They will also be making Christmas

cards and/or Santa/Elf cards. Remember to bring in

boxtops!

Music

Music classes are going great! The fourth grade

classes will be playing rhythm games and

learning lyrics to songs for their Christmas Sing

Along.

Fifth grade will be rehearsing on stage for their

Christmas program, “Christmas at the O. K.

Corral”. This program is December 8, 2016 at

6:30 pm in the PUE auditorium.

Honor Choir will ride in the Pearl Christmas

Parade and perform at Jingle Bell Market on

December 3, 2016.

Library

It’s almost book fair time! Our book fair

begins Monday, December 5th and wraps up

Friday, December 9th. There will be a

wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and

affordable books. Students may purchase

books during breaks and their scheduled

library time.

There will be extended hours for parents to

shop Tuesday, December 6th (3-5:30 pm)

and Thursday, December 8th (3-6 pm).

A sheet with more information will be sent

home with students and posted on the

school’s website.
