It is manageable in size, and i tis very fun with interactive exhibits. A perfect destination for of a couple hours.

2. PS 1 Contemporary Art CenterIn the location of a former school, PS 1 is a small but amazing contemporary art museum. Now affiliated with MoMA, PS 1 still retains its edge. They helped grow Long Island City into the must-see destination for the art that it is now.

3. NY Hall of ScienceThe New York Hall of Science, located in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park is a cool interactive science museum designed for children. It has great hands-on exhibits, and more than any other museum in NYC. Most importantly, its a fun destination for ages 5 and up. Adults and older children might enjoy the NASA rockets outside the museum, however you will only enjoy this museum with kids in tow.

4. Queens County Farm MuseumThe Queens County Farm Museum is a real working farm and the home to animals your children can feed. They also have a farm stand, a vineyard making its first vintage of wine, and they are the host of the annual Queens County Fair. Its a fun afternoon trip for younger kids and their frequent weekend festivals can hold the attention of older kids.

5. Queens Museum of ArtLocated In Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, the Queens Museum of Art is next to the world famous famous Unisphere. The Museum building dates to a Worlds Fair, but from the 1939 one.

Their best exhibits are about the two Worlds Fairs held in Flushing Meadows, and the Panorama of New York City. Also, they have a cool model of all five boroughs. The exhibits of contemporary art by local artist.
