Our film is going to be called Out Of Reach

Shanice is a 17 year old girl with a secret she never wants to be unveiled, she wants to be just like the rest of the girls her age but there is always something standing in her way. After years of abuse and torment she thought it would be different…until now. The film will show Shanice’s past, revealing the men who have tormented her in some way in her life. Shanice is left with no friends, has no idea on who to trust and has parents who think she’s going insane. Most girls wonder to themselves do I look ok? Shanice wonders, which stranger is trying to kill me next? With 5 people on the loose trying to kill her, Shanice barely has time for anything else, other than trying to survive. Each killer has a distinctive feature with a different motive to kill her. Phil, (the obsessive man) has a distinct laugh and his motive is that if he can’t have her than no one will. As the film comes to a close, Shanice is killed by the man, with the family around while this happens, the truth is finally revealed.

Our opening sequence starts with Shanice walking through a park and decides to sit down and write in her diary. As she looks to the side of her there is a bruise, which brings her to a flashback of what happened last summer. Shanice is abducted by a man (Phil) who is obsessed with her. He ties her up and takes photos of her. As he leaves to process the films in the darkroom, she has escaped. Shanice runs through the park while scratching her ropes off her. She decides to take a break from running as she can’t breathe, this is when Shanice does a double take as she finds herself looking at herself on the swing. By the shock of it, she runs faster and faster until she hits a dead end. As she turns around she sees a black figure walking towards her; recognising the laughter, she knows it’s Phil. She tries to escape but there’s no way out. A tear falls down her cheek and lands on her diary, bringing the flashback to reality. The tear then dissolves into the book revealing the title. When this is over, Shanice closes her diary and walks off into the distance, the scene fading behind her.

Funding & distribution If we got to develop this film further we would want to apply too the EUS media 2007 programme which is a public funding facility that support the European audiovisual sector: Media 2007. This distribution is our main company because it’s really successful and the budget has been £755 million over the past seven years which shows overall how creative they are as a team. Another positive thing is they have three objectives as a company:

% 1)To preserve and enhance European cultural diversity and its cinematographic and audiovisual heritage, guarantee accessibility to this for Europeans and promote

intercultural dialogue;% 2)To increase the circulation of European audiovisual works inside and outside the

European Union;% 3) To strengthen the competitiveness of the European audiovisual sector in the

framework of an open and competitive market.% I think these objectives are really strong and if we did make this into a

real film it would be successful because this funding company are really professional and know exactly what they are talking about. Also because the company follows into Europe means that the film could be more well known and be successful for us and the company themselves as they will receive a lot of money and popularity.
