DSO at aGlance

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is the largest

performing arts organization in the Southwest United

States and has been a cornerstone of the cultural

landscape of Dallas since its founding in 1900. Each

season, the DSO serves more than 243,000 patrons,

including 35,000 children, through more than 200

concerts and over 20 signature educational and

community engagement programs. An additional 2

million people experience the Dallas Symphony

annually through broadcasts and recording

distribution.

The DSO's work is driven by the idea that everyone in Dallas should be able to

say that the DSO is their orchestra, and the DSO's commitment to equity,

diversity and inclusion is central to this work. This is supported by initiatives

CREATION OF THE INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENT, a highlight of

which is the new Young Musicians program that engages hundreds of students in

Southern Dallas with free instruments and weekly small group lessons,

REVITALIZATION OF THE MORTON H. MEYERSON SYMPHONY CENTER, including

much-needed maintenance and expanded access for use by the community-at-large,

NEW INITIATIVES AND PROGRAMS designed to ensure that a wide-variety of

musical experiences are accessible to all members of the community, both at the

Meyerson and venues throughout North Texas.
