Page 2: Pitch Presentation 1a

Brief

• Our task was to produce a five minute documentary with a topic of our choice. Our documentary should contain interviews, cutaways and footage. We were also asked to make a radio advert and a print advert.

Page 3: Pitch Presentation 1a

Type Of Documentary

• We believe that our documentary is a Reality TV programme. We believe this because there will be facts and opinions in our documentary.

Page 4: Pitch Presentation 1a

Introduction

• We will firstly introduce our idea with two presenters explaining our reasons behind doing a programme about sixth form.

• We will then show a short clip showing a sixth form classroom. The presenters will still be talking via a voice over.

Page 5: Pitch Presentation 1a

Storyline

• We shall do a documentary about the decisions students in year 11 have to make. This will be shown through interviews, and we will see how different people react to sixth form and college.

• If we would film for a whole hour then we would interview students in year 11, 12 and 13, past sixth form students who went on to university or work, teachers who work close with the sixth form students, students who attend college and teachers at college.

Sound

This sound is called ‘Battle’ it is going to be used to attract the audience when the presenters are introducing the programme. It will attract the audience, however not taking the focus off the presenters.

Sound

This sound is called ‘Be There or Be Square’ it is going to be used as background music whilst the interview is being done. It will be on a low volume so not to take away the focus from the interviewee and interviewer.

Sound

This sound is called ‘Funk Master’ it will be used similarly to the introduction, however it will be used at the end of the documentary just before an advert break. It will be the last sound the audience hear.

Viability

• Our programme will be viable as there are no other similar programmes about at this moment in time.

• Students should want to watch this programme as it may help them in making their own decisions.

Storyboard

• We created a storyboard to show different scenes that we would like to have in our documentary.

Page 13: Pitch Presentation 1a

Script

• This is our script. This shows us what we would like the presenters and interviewer to say and ask the people we interview.

Unique Selling Point

• After looking for similar products and noticing that there are only a couple of products that are similar to our idea, we realized that our Unique Selling Point (USP) is that there aren’t many products like this and that we should get viewers because of this.

Actors

• We will not have any ‘actors’ as such, but we will have two presenters and one interviewer. One of the presenters may be the interviewer.

• The presenters will be scripted, and so will the questions the interviewer asks, the responses from the interviewee will not be scripted.
