Your application will not be considered complete without the fee or waiver. Pitzer Writing Supplement Pitzer College requires a writing supplement in which applicants reflect on their engagement with one or more of Pitzer’s core values. For additional information about the writing supplement, please visit our website at: www.pitzer.edu/admission/apply/first-year. Test Scores (optional) Pitzer College uses a holistic approach to student admission with emphasis placed on high school transcripts, recommendation letters, leadership positions, work history, involvement in school and community activities, and commitment to Pitzer’s core values. The College is test-optional, providing students the opportunity to present application materials that accurately reflect their diverse academic talents and potential. Students can submit either the SAT or the ACT by the application deadline if they feel their results best represent their academic potential. The admission committee makes no assumptions as to why some students choose to submit scores while others don’t. All students are given equal consideration in the admission process. For more information, please go to: www.pitzer.edu/admission/test-optional-policy. Recommendations Two recommendations from teachers are required. Recommendations should be submitted electronically through the Common Application website at: My Colleges > Pitzer College > Recommendations and FERPA. There you can find instructions for submitting recommendations online or via an offline form that should be scanned and emailed to the Office of Admission at [email protected]. School Report A report from your school counselor is required (a Counselor Recommendation is optional). Recommendations should be submitted electronically through the Common Application website at: My Colleges > Pitzer College > Recommendations and FERPA. There you can find instructions on how to submit the school report online. Any offline forms should be scanned and emailed to the Office of Admission at [email protected]. Transcripts Request an official copy of your transcript to be sent to the Office of Admission (complete through your junior year). You must also request that your first semester senior grades (Midyear Report) be sent to us as soon as they become available. If you have taken graded courses at a college or university, please submit official copies of those transcripts as well. Interview Interviews are optional. The Office of Admission is open for interviews and tours all year, Monday through Friday and select Saturday mornings in the fall by appointment. You can schedule an interview on our website at: www.pitzer.edu/admission/visiting-campus. Interviews are conducted in person, by phone, via Skype or by alumni. Application Checklist

Financial Aid Checklist

CSS ProfileThe CSS Pro�le is required to receive institutional, need-based �nancial aid at Pitzer. The noncustodial parent, who lives apart from the student, completes the Noncustodial Pro�le. There is a fee to submit the Pro�le application, however domestic applicants will automatically be granted a fee waiver when submitting the application if quali�ed. International students must complete the Pro�le online and we do not accept paper applications.

FAFSAThe FAFSA is a free application and is required for all US citizens and permanent residents who are applying for federal or state aid at Pitzer College. International and undocumented applicants do not complete the FAFSA. Before you start the application, apply for a FSA ID at fsaid.ed.gov, then complete the FAFSA at fafsa.ed.gov.

Supplemental Tax DocumentsStudents submit a copy of their 2015 Federal Income Tax Return or a Non�ling Statement and W-2 forms. International students submit a 2015 Tax Return or Non�ling Statement and wage statements, if applicable. Parents of dependent students must submit a copy of their 2015 Federal Income Tax Return, including all schedules and W-2 forms. Parents that own or operate a business are required to submit a copy of their business return and K-1 statements. Divorced, separated or parents that reside apart from the student must also submit a copy of their 2015 Federal Tax Return, schedules, W-2 forms, business returns and K-1 statements. Parents of international students will submit a copy of their 2015 tax return and wage statements.

Cal Grant ApplicationStudents who will graduate from a California high school apply for the state Cal Grant by submitting a high school GPA Veri�cation form through their high school counselor and �ling the FAFSA. Dreamers complete the Cal ISIR.

For International Students Only

TOEFL or IELTS ResultsInternational students are not required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores if English is the language of instruction at their secondary school and if students have been there for three years or longer. If English is not the primary language spoken at home or school, students are required to submit testing to demonstrate English pro�ciency.

Students who are quali�ed for admission to Pitzer in all ways except English pro�ciency and who have achieved an IELTS score of at least 6.5 or a TOEFL score of at least 70 IBT or 190 CBT are eligible for Pitzer’s International Scholars Program. International Scholars are admitted as regular, full-time students with the requirement of completing advanced English courses as part of their undergraduate studies.

International Student Certification of FinancesInternational students, regardless of whether they are seeking �nancial aid, must submit an International Student Certi�cation of Finances to the Of�ce of Admission. The form is available at: www.pitzer.edu/admission/apply/international-students/ and should be emailed to [email protected], or uploaded to your applicant portal.

Special Program

7-Year Joint Medical ProgramPitzer’s partnership with Western University of Health Sciences Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine Program in Pomona, CA provides Pitzer’s students with the opportunity to obtain a B.A. and a D.O. in 7 years. To apply for the program, indicate your interest through the prompt on the Common Application and submit the required essay in the Writing Supplement section.
