PIU Library News
Recommendations from the Library Stella Yafneg is the Library Information Special-ist and also a PIU alumnus. While still young she brings years of library experience to assist people in use of the Library and getting the in-formation needed. Her love for God, PIU, the Library and all of us and her family shines brightly.
She recommends five books for us to read. 1.THE MAGIC SHARK LEARNS TO COOK by Donivee Martin Laird ***** NEW ***** If you like to read to young children and also have interest to try some easy recipes-- This book is for you! This is a Hawai'i storybook with easy recipes for young children. Check out the “Frosty Papaya Smoothie” or “Sharky’s Hawaiian French Toast” and much more!
2. TRUE DEVOTION by Dee Henderson Uncom-mon Heroes series, Book 1 MILITARY ROMANCE SERIES: Learn about the military world where “friendships goes deeper, loyalties remain strong, uncommon heroes do the difficult jobs in the world” - (Book Summary) and God in the midst of their life journey. Remember the service of those who sacrificed their lives to protect their countries.
3. WHAT HOLLYWOOD BELIEVES: An intimate look at the faith of the famous by Ray Comfort. This is an interesting book to read about what Hollywood believes, you will be amaze about their personal beliefs and faiths [George Lucas -Star Wars ; Kirk Cam-eron ; Britney Spears; Michael Jackson ; Jim Carey …]. Discover who believe the Bible and pray everyday. Who acknowledge God’s existence in their career and who are atheists?
4. THE THINGS THAT MATTER: Living a life of purpose until Christ returns by David Jere-miah. This book will challenge you to focus on Jesus and to ground your life in what really matter- which is our relationship with the Lord and the hope we have in Him as we prepare for the future and His coming. Our service in Him and how we live our life will eventually count.
5. GIFTED HANDS: The Ben Carson Story by Ben Carson with Cecil Murphey This book will motivate you to work harder, read more and try what seems impossible as a way of becoming successful in life. Ben Carson was considered a dummy as a kid but he made his way to the top of becoming the world’s role model today as a wonderful surgeon who gives chil-dren and patients a second chance to live.
