Principal’s Message
Camden Show Last Friday we took over 320 children, 53 parents and 20 teachers to the Camden Show. Wow what an accomplishment! Every single child on the day did Thirlmere Public School proud. From the moment they got on the bus, until the day ended, they were respectful, thoughtful of others and followed the instructions of their supervising adult. When I arrived at the school and was informed that we took the whole school to the Camden Show my first thoughts were ‘you have to be kidding.’ In 22 years of teaching I have never been involved in such an experience. The preparation and organisation that goes into such an event is hard to fathom and involves days and days of work. The planning for the day was done mainly by Mrs Collins and I am extremely grateful for her exceptional organisational skills and commitment to ensuring we continued this tradition. The day ran so smoothly because of our committed staff and the procedures we had in place to ensure the safety of every child, parent and teacher on the day. So a massive thank you goes out to Mrs Collins and our 20 teachers and support staff who worked so hard leading up to the show and on the day itself. A huge thank you also to our 53 parent volunteers. It was an enormous task to supervisor children at the show and in such incredible heat. It would have been impossible to do it without you, and we are all extremely grateful for your support and commitment to ensuring all children had a wonderful experience in a safe and supportive environment.
Have a wonderful week. Lisa Whitfield
