The technology is changing the world and it becomes a challenging task to cater the needs of the industry, but I am proud to say that GITAM has faced the challenge successfully. The institute is contributing to the social needs of the society and ensuring sustainable development of the country as well as the world, on a whole. Our alumni have achieved tremendous success in all spheres and this bears an eloquent testimony to our efforts. Our students get a lot of industrial exposure by their frequent industrial visits. Besides, our undergraduate students undergo a six‐week training in their summer vacations and in the 8�� semester in reputed industries/institutions/organizations, as part of their academic requirements Let me assure you that our students are well equipped, confident, flexible, hard working, intelligent, problem solvers and will be definitely an asset to the industry.
It is a matter of immense pleasure to learn that Ganga Institute of Technology & Management is launching its first Placement Brochure. I heartly congratulate the Director, Placement team & Editorial board for this. GITAM aims at improving overall personality of the student by providing them all platforms be it Sports, Technical Activities, Project Competitions, Cultural Activities, Group Discussions, Industrial Visits, Expert Lectures and so on. It is a pleasure to learn that one of the student of Computer Science & Engineering got selected in a package of 15 Lakhs. From last 3 years, with every passing semester, GITAM is improving in terms of Results and Placements . The acid test for any organization are its Results and Placements. GITAM is amongst the best Institutes of M.D. University on both these fronts. 416 Students of this Institute were University Rankers in 2014‐15 out of which 16 Students, have secured first position in the University. 55 companies have visited the campus for placement drive in 2015‐16. We have tie‐up with more than 100 companies for Training and Placement.Students also got selected in almost all the Multinational Companies and Government Sectors. We are through the process of accreditation and once we get it definitely these multinational companies will come in the campus. My sincere complements to T.P.O. & his team.

GITAM has been designated as the NODAL CENTRE for Virtual Labs by IIT Delh i under the subsequent directives issued by MHRD, Govt. of India. This project is a mission of making India exper imenta l ly knowledgeable. The prime objective of GITAM is to make its students conversant with latest technologies so that they can play a vital role in the development of the Nation.
Spoken Tutorial is a unique initiative of IIT Bombay and GITAM is a resource centre for promoting this project. It is a unique Audio‐Visual instructional tool which trains in the distance learning method. The Spoken Tutorial project is the ‘Talk to a Teacher’ activity of the Mission on Education through Information and communication Technology Launched by MHRD, Govt. of India.

In addition to academic knowledge being imparted in the classroom lectures,
GITAM gives additional inputs in the form of Expert Lectures. These lectures are
organized for each department. The students and faculty get an opportunity to
interact with the industry and academia. Faculty Development Programmes in
association with NITTTR, Chandigarh are conducted Bi‐Annually.
Educational Trips and Excursions are an integral part of GITAM's curriculum. The
importance of Educational Tours includes giving students the chance to build
closer bonds with their classmates, experience new environments and enjoy a
day away from the classroom.Students from every department go for educational trips and excursions
regularly.
The Students’ Welfare Department and the NSS unit conducts Blood Donation
Camps, Tree Plantation Drives, Road Safety Awareness Camps, First Aid
Awareness Camps, Beti Bachao ‐ Beti Padhao Awareness camp & Ganga
Swachata Abhiyan. It also provides the students a platform to showcase their
leadership skills, talents in music, art & craft and literary interest by organising
college level events like Debate, Declamation, Group Discussions etc.

Organizing regular Job Fairs every year at GITAM Campus is another area where management takes keen interest to facilitate prospective candidates in getting suitable job opportunities as per their abilities, e x p e r i e n c e a n d a c a d e m i c background. On the spot job offers were made to the students of B.Tech, MBA, Diploma, and other graduates. GITAM , because of its industry linkages and strategic location is an ideal place for companies to come and participate in the job fair within the college campus.
The Training and Placement Cell functions through its separate office with state‐of ‐the‐art facilities for conducting Pre ‐ Placement Talks, Written Tests, Group Discussions and Interviews. The team is divided into two groups, one grooms the personality of the students and other takes care of placement activities. We have a strong Alumni Network which helps in Placements.
TPO cell has steadily progressed over the years in enhancing the placement potential effectively. Students also got selected in most of the Multinational Companies and Government Sectors through off ‐ campus placement drives.
The college maintains a help desk for students seeking information regarding the upcoming prospective companies for placement. Latest significant information from the Corporate World is also provided to the aspiring students.
I found a complete transformation in my personality during my stay at GITAM. Thanks GITAM for makingme what I am today.
