GITS NEWSTRACK Volume: 15, 2016 Issue: 3,March UPCOMING EVENTS Dr. M Babita Jain (Dean Academics) GITS NEWSLETTER AND MAGAZINE COMMITTEE STUDENT COMMITTEE To unite all the ignited minds of engineers, Dept. of CSE conducted 'Technoholix', a National Level Inter College Technical Symposium on 31 March and 1 April 2016. The event was inaugurated by the chief guests Dr. Manju Mandot (Director of Women Studies), Mr. J. K. Verma (Head of NIC), Mr. Madhukar Dubey (Founder & M.D. of Fusion). Dr. Babita Jain (Dean Academic, GITS) and Dr. Ridhima Khamesra (HOD, CSE) welcomed the guests. Participants competed in technical and non-technical events like Code Warriors, Web Orc, SQL Maestro, Assemble, Mix Pix, Treasure Hunt, Tug of War, Selfie, Groupie, Dubsmash, Film Making, PC Gaming competition which enhanced the true motto of the event “Technology is fun”. GITS HIGHLIGHTS!!! The record placements in the year 2015-16 are continued in the institution. In the recent three months, famous and leading MNC’s stepped in campus and recruited students on high packages. We feel proud that placements from GITS are reaching new heights and we look forward to achieve more. Congratulations to the entire GITS Family!!! Empowerment of students for their all round development through education is our cherished motto. Today education means much more than merely acquiring knowledge. It is acquisition of knowledge and skills, building character and improving employability of our young talent, the future leadership. I am sure, being stars and their painstakingly and gainfully developed GITS Culture, we inherited a strong foundation to march ahead and achieve the within mentioned education objectives for a stronger and brighter India. Measures initiated by the Hon. Management, steps taken by the Principal, the willing contribution of the teaching and non-teaching staff and over whelming response and enthusiastic participation of my dear students in the college activates in the recent past all vouch for this. THE INSIGHTS OF GEETANJALI INSTITUTE OF TECHNICAL STUDEIS

The Diploma to Degree Cell of GITS organized an educational visit of diploma students of Vidhya Bhavan Polytechnic College, Udaipur, to the campus on 19 March 2016. The purpose of the visit was to aware, council and motivates the students about the recent career trends in Engineering. Dr. Prof. M. Venu Gopala Rao (Principal, Gits) and Prof. Rajeev Mathur (Head ECE) inspired the students through their valuable words

GITS, Sports Club organized a National College Level Sports Meet “Prakrida 2016” from 12th to 15th March. Around 1500 students from different universities and colleges of the country participated in the event. GITS won the Championship Trophy by securing more than 20+ awards. Chief Guest Professor R. S. Rathore (Former National Cricket Umpire) facilitates Mr. Himanshuraj Singh Chouhan and team with the championship trophy. Dr. M. Venu Gopala Rao, (Principal, GITS) announced to have such a glorious, enthusiastic, and all-round developing event again in the near future.

DIPLOMA STUDENTS VISIT

M.B.A. Department organized an inter college Business Quiz “KAUN BANEGA

VIDWAAN” on 29/02/2016. The event was crowned by Dr. P.K. Jain, Mr. B. L. Jangir

(Finance Controller GITS) & Dr. Mukesh Porwal (Director MBA, GITS). The quiz

was based on G.K. , identifying logos, famous business personalities, abbreviations,

punch lines, and current issues related to business. The winners are; Vishvjeet st

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM GITS SPORTS : ‘PRAKRIDA 2016’

KAUN BANEGA VIDHWAANResearch & Development department organized an expert talk on “Role of Research in Career Development” on 17th March, 2016. Dr. Sunil Joshi (Head, ECE Dept. CTAE, Udaipur) delivered the lecture to the students and elaborated the importance of Research in career development and also provided guidance to start up the research activities to broaden their knowledge & enable them to pursue an effective research career.

Ÿ An Expert Talk on “Start Up and New Entrepreneurship” by Mr. Nilay Mathur (NIIT, Udaipur) for MBA, MCA, Civil, Mechanical & Automobile Students. Ÿ Expert talk on “Time Complexity, Data Structures & Its Applications” by Dr. Mukesh Agarwal (Head, CSE, JECRC, Jaipur) & Ms. Rita from Brahmakumari, Udaipur.Ÿ Dr. Anirban Basu, (President CSI, India) delivered a lecture on “Software Quality Enhancement & Assurance”.Ÿ An Expert talk on “Cyber Security & Networking” by Dr. Anicia Peters, (Dean, Faculty of Computing and Informatics Namibia University).Ÿ Dr. Dharam Singh ( Deputy Director, Namibia University of Science and Technology,) delivered a lecture on “Research Methodology in Technology and Science in Various Aspects”.

The Woman Cell of the college celebrated International Woman's Day on 8th March. The celebration was crowned by Prof. Gayatri Tiwari, expert Human Development and Family Studies and a trustee of Jatan Sansthan. The event was followed by movie presentation competition and 'Nukkad Natak' by the students on the present condition of woman and the challenges they face to survive.

Ÿ Mechanical Students received 2nd prize in DST Sponsored Project Exhibition.Ÿ ECE 3rd yr students participated in TRYST-2016 IIT Delhi Workshop on Bluetooth Robotics and Embedded SystemŸ Ms. Richa Agarwal (MBA, I Year) won First Prize in Essay Writing competition at Pacific University in 'National Science Day Event '. Ÿ Ms. Keerti Saraf (MBA, 2013-2015) scored 6th rank in RTU's toppers list by securing 80% marks.
