Design a guide leaflet or poster to inform other people about how they can take care of planet Earth. Ideas to include: A catchy tle Clear, concise informaon Pictures Informaon about polluon and polluon reducon Informaon about recycling and waste management Challenge 2: Planets Can you name all the planets? What are they like? Think about what you already know. Think about any questions you would like to know. Ask a grown up to help you find the information online or in a book. Then design your own planet. Challenge 3 : Stars There are roughly 10,000 stars that are visible to our human eyes. However, only a few hundred stars have been given proper names in the history of astronomy. Play a guessing game with a friend. Look at all the words in the grid IS IT A STAR? Can you guess which ones are the names of star con- stellations? Draw a star next to the names you think will be the true constellation names. Then research each name and tick off the correct answers. Challenge 4: Day and Night Research and answer the questions 1. Why do we have night and day? 2. Where in the world experiences a 6- month day and a 6-month night? Why is this? 3. Why do humans need sleep? 4. Why are some animals nocturnal?

Challenge 1:

Our planet is an amazing place. It is important that we take care of it.

Design a guide leaflet or poster to inform other people about how they

can take care of planet Earth.

Ideas to include: A catchy title • Clear, concise information • Pictures •

Information about pollution and pollution reduction • Information

about recycling and waste management •

Challenge 2: Planets

Can you name all the planets? What are they like? Think about what

you already know. Think about any questions you would like to know.

Ask a grown up to help you find the information online or in a book.

Then design your own planet.

Challenge 3 : Stars

There are roughly 10,000 stars

Challenge 5

The dodo explains that it isn’t supposed to be in the book. Why is

this? Can you find out about other animals that have become

extinct? What can we do to protect animals on our planet?

Challenge 7:

Do you know where are the countries of Europe are? Try this online quiz – how quickly can you

complete it and how high is your percentage? Have as many tries as you like. There are lots of

other places quizzes on this site if you like this one – try another!

You will need

• Flour / water or PVA glue

• A balloon

• Newspaper

• Paints

Challenge 8:

Pick a country in the world. Create your own

presentation about that country. Here are some

ideas:

• Fill a shoe box with objects/pictures/

photos from that country.

• Create a power point presentation

about the country.

• Make a poster advertising that country so

people would want to visit

• Find out about the foods eaten and try a

few new recipes
