ROTATING BIOLOGICAL CONTACTOR (RBC) METHOD

The system includes Polypropylene (PP) disks attached to a solid steel mill rotating at 3-3.5 rpm with 40% of it being immersed in the waste water, exposing the remaining 60% of the rotor to the atmosphere at any time.

While the shaft is rotating, the bacteria sticks onto the plastic disks creating a biological film. Once the disks cycle out of the water these bacteria meet with air and feed with oxygen. Then the alive bacteria start to oxidize and consume one another decreasing the amount of bacteria in the water. Treated waste water and sludge are the products of this process.

The PlanetDISK® RBC technology, which is used across the world, is being produced locally at PlanetTEK Inc. facilities, Istanbul, Turkey at European Standards. PlanetTEK is proudly one of less than 15 certified RBC manufacturers in the World. The units are made of:

GRP (fiberglass) body that will protect the system from corrosion;

Virgin Polypropylene 1-piece Discs (PP) which will last over 70 years without any degradation;

2050mm diameter, 1.5 – 1.7 mm thickness.

SOLIS of Greece purchased 6 PlanetDISK MX1 Units. This purchase is part of a major project of sewage treatment in rural areas of Greece and Greek Isles. This project is funded by EU. SOLIS preferred PlanetTEK over EU based manufacturers for superior quality and better price than all the other EU manufacturers.
