The Busselton Pedal Prix event will once again return to the Busselton foreshore (West of the Equinox) on Sunday 19 August 2018. The 6 hour competition (10am – 4pm) will see teams race Human Powered Vehicles around a closed controlled circuit.A section of the foreshore carpark and adjacent roadway will be closed to create the circuit and as such will impact on access to the area. The closures will commence at 9.30am and conclude at 4.30pm on Sunday 19 August. The affected roads are as follows:
• West Street from the intersection of Geographe Bay Road to Marine Terrace• Geographe Bay Road from West Street to Gale Street
Road closure signs and associated detours will be in place. The City apologies for any inconvenience caused.For further information on the event and road closures please refer to the event websitewww.pedalprix.com.au/race/busselton/
Applications are invited from Sporting Clubs requiring the use of City reserves, including hard courts during the 2018-2019 Summer Season (1 October 2018 – 31 March 2019).
Applications are invited for new or renewal of existing Outdoor Exercise Permits requiring use of City reserves during the 2018-2019 Summer and/or Winter Season (01 October 2018 – 30 September 2019).

EVENT SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMME 2018/19 ROUND 2 – NOW OPEN
Recognising the positive economic and social benefits events and tourism have on the region; the City has developed an Event Sponsorship Programme that aims to assist in the funding and attraction of year-round events to the region, bridging the existing events shoulder season and further advancing the region as the Events Capital of WA. Every proposal for an event seeking sponsorship from the City of Busselton is required to complete an Event Sponsorship Programme Application. This format has been designed to ensure: • Planning for every event is rigorous, transparent and comprehensive; • Annual events use the Event Sponsorship Programme Application as a planning tool to continually improve
the quality of the event; and • The City’s Marketing and Events Reference Group can assess each proposal fairly and equitably. DUNSBOROUGH TRANSACTION CENTRE PAY YOUR RATES AT THE NATURALISTE COMMUNITY CENTRE
The City of Busselton is once again providing residents with the opportunity to access transaction services in Dunsborough through the Naturaliste Community Centre (NCC) during the annual rates period. In addition, customers will be able to make general enquiries, lodge customer requests, register animals and access other customer services during this period. The Transaction Centre will open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00am to 12 noon between 28 August and 20 September 2018. The Naturaliste Community Centre is located on Dunsborough Lakes Drive, Dunsborough.
The City of Busselton will hold its first ever “Free Tip Day” on Saturday 15 September at both the Busselton Transfer Station and Dunsborough Waste Facility. Entry charges will be waived for all domestic waste brought to the waste facilities on this day only between 7.30am and 4.00pm. The Free Tip Day initiative has been designed as a response to the problem of illegal dumping in the bush. A free sausage sizzle will also operate for customers at the Busselton Transfer Station from 10am until the sausages run out. A temporary re-use shop will be set up to recycle goods which may have value for others. The City’s Recycling Education Officer will be present to answer questions on waste and recycling in the City. 15 September has also been designated global “World Cleanup Day” in which 150 countries will take part in the global waste problem. DUNSBOROUGH TOWNSCAPE UPGRADE
STAGES 4 AND 5
In Accordance with section 3.50 of the Local Government Act 1995, Part 3
(functions of local governments - closing certain thoroughfares to vehicles), the
City of Busselton advises that construction of Stage 4 and 5 of the Dunsborough
Townscape Upgrade has commenced.
The works will impact on:
1. STAGE 4 - Dunsborough Place/Dunn Bay Road/Naturaliste Terrace roundabout,
requiring the closure of all access legs.
2. STAGE 5 - Dunn Bay Road between Hannay Lane and Seymour Boulevard,
requiring closure of this section of road.
Works commenced on 3 September and are proposed to be completed by
30 November, subject to weather conditions. Works are scheduled to continue
through the September/ October school holidays, in order to reduce the overall
length of the project.
The project includes road reconstruction, footpath construction and landscaping
with the City reopening completed sections as soon as is practicable, based upon
individual staging requirements.
Advance warning of the roundabout works will be provided via the use of variable
message boards located at strategic locations in the vicinity of the works.
Traffi c management and detours will be in place and delays should be
expected. Otherwise, it is advisable to seek alternative routes around the works
wherever possible.
The City apologises for any inconvenience and will endeavour to minimize
