Plant Life Cycle (comparisons w/ Metamorphosis)
Plants – seed germination seedling (sprout) --takes in WATER thru roots/produces FOOD in its leaves/passes food & H2O in stem--
full grown plant with flower (flowering plants – make seeds) some flowers produce fruit (that fruit holds the seeds of the plant). --Flowers/fruits/cones= seeds for REPRODUCTION--
• Pollination occurs in the flowers• The seed is formed after pollination• This is when the cycle begins again

Animals and InsectsMetamorphosis
Incomplete Metamorphosis – 3 stages of development Egg nymph adult
Examples: cockroaches, grasshoppers, dragonflies
Complete Metamorphosis – 4 stages of developmentEgg larva pupa adult
Examples: meal worms,butterflies,ladybugs,

Direct Development – When organisms grow larger but keep their same body shape
