    Stepsister 2: (laug hing) Have a g rea t night wo rking, Cinderella.

    Narrator: After the evil stepsisters had left, suddenly, a fairyappeared.

    Cinderella: Oh my! Who a re you?

    Fairy godmother: Im your fairy godmother, bea utiful Cinderella. I am here

    to help you go to the ball tonight.

    Narrator: The fairy go dmother waved her mag ic wand.

    Cinderellas rags turned into a beautiful dress.

    Cinderella: Wow! Its so beautiful.

    Narrator: On her feet were sparkling g lass slippe rs.

    Cinderella: Oh, I love t hem!

    Narrator: The fa iry g od mot her turned a pumpkin into a n ama zing

    coa ch and some mice into horses.

    Cinderella: What a lovely coa ch and handsome horses.

    Fairy godmother: You are rea dy now, my dea r. Have fun tonight, but b e

    ba ck by midnight, or e lse!

    Cinderella: Okay, fa iry go dmother! Thank you.

    Scene 1 (at Cinderellas home)

    Narrator: Once upon a time there was a bea utiful young g irl named

    Cinderella. She had two ugly stepsisters who w ere very

    cruel to her.

    Stepsister 1: Did you clea n the kitchen?

    Cinderella: Yes, I d id.

    Stepsister 2: Did you polish my shoes?

    Cinderella: Yes, I d id.

    Stepsister 1: Did you iron my clothes?

    Cinderella: Yes, I d id.

    Stepsister 2: And...did you make breakfast?

    Cinderella: Yes, b reakfast is ready.

    Narrator: The evil stepsisters mad e C inderella do all the hard wo rk.

    Cinderella: (ca lling out) Stepsisters! A letter from the royal palace has

    arrived for you.

    Stepsister 1: (fighting) G ive it to me! I wa nt to o pen it.

    Stepsister 2: (fighting) No! I wa nt to open it.

    Stepsister 1 & 2: (loo king at the invita tion ca rd) Loo k! We are invited to the

    Princes ball at the royal palace.

    Cinderella: (crying sad ly) I wish I could go, too .

    Narrator: The night of the ba ll arrived.

    Stepsister 1: (laughing) Ha, ha! We a re g oing to have a g reat time a t

    the b all.

    Narrator: At the b all, everyone w onde red who the beautiful

    princess was.

    Guest 1 (lady): Who is tha t be autiful princess?

    Guest 2 (man): Ive never seen such a b ea utiful wo man in my life!

    Stepsister 1: Oh no! The Prince is go ing to da nce with her.

    Stepsister 2: This is not fa ir! He was meant to dance with me.

    Scene 3 (at Cinderellas home)

    Narrator: The next d ay, the Prince set out to find Cinderella a g ain.

    Prince: I wa nt every g irl in the kingdom t o t ry on this lost g lass

    slipper. I must find my princess.

    Narrator: But the g lass slipper didnt fit anyone. The Prince then

    arrived at Cinderella s house.Stepsister 1: G ood mo rning P rince. I am so happy tha t you found my

    slipper.

    Stepsister 2: It is my slipper. I am the princess you are looking for.

    Narrator: The ug ly sisters tried to fit into the slipper.

    Stepsister 1: Let me try first!

    Stepsister 2: No. Your feet a re much too big. G ive it to me!

    Narrator: Their feet w ere much to o big . Then the Prince saw

    Cinderella.Prince: Let this girl try.

    Stepsister 1: But tha ts only Cinderella .

    Stepsister 2: She didnt g o to the ball. The slipper wont fit her!

    Narrator: Cinderella sat do wn a nd t ried on the slipper.

    Prince: It fits!Cinderella: It fits!

    Stepsister 1 & 2: (surprised) It fits?

    Prince: (smiling ) You a re the one Ive been loo king for! What is

    your name?

    Cinderella: (smiling) My name is Cinderella.

    Narrator: The P rince ha d found his princess and they lived happily

    ever after.

    Cinderella

    Prince: Would you like to dance with me?

    Cinderella: Oh, yes, your hig hness.

    Narrator: The Prince d anced every da nce with her. Sudd enly, the

    clock beg an t o strike twe lve.

    Cinderella: I must go! Thank you for the dance .

    Prince: Please stay! (shouting) What is your name?

    Narrator: Cinderella d id not answer and ran back to the coa ch, butshe lost one o f her g lass slippers on the w ay. Then, the

    coa ch and horses d isappeared . Cinderellas bea utiful dress

    turned b ack to rags.

    Cinderella: Oh no! Everythings gone. My beautiful dress and my

    sparkling slippe rs, where a re they? Was it a drea m?

    Scene 1 (in front of the cottage)

    Narrator: Once upon a t ime there were three b ea rs.

    Daddy Bear: (waving and smiling) Im Dadd y Bear.

    Mummy Bear: (waving and smiling) Im Mummy Bear and this is...

    Baby Bear: (excited) Im Bab y Bear!

    Narrator: The three b ea rs loved to ea t po rridg e e very morning.

    Mummy Bear: I mad e hot po rridg e. I put some b erries in it to da y.

    It smells nice, doesnt it?

    Baby Bear: Yum! It smells very nice and it looks delicious. Can I eat

    mine now ?

    Narrator: But their porridg e w as too hot to e at now.

    Mummy Bear: The p orridge is hot this morning .

    Daddy Bear: Lets all go for a wa lk. It w ill be cool when we g et ba ck.

    Baby Bear: Thats a g rea t idea , Dadd y! Lets go !

    Narrator: A little g irl called G oldilocks was out wa lking , to o. She

    passed by the three b ears cottage.

    Goldilocks: What a lovely cott ag e!

    Narrator: Goldilocks tasted Daddy Bears porridge.

    Goldilocks: Ow ! Its much too hot.

    Narrator: G oldilocks tasted Mummy Bea rs porridg e.

    Goldilocks: Yuck! Its much too co ld.

    Narrator: G oldilocks tasted Bab y Bears porridg e.

    Goldilocks: Yum! Its just right!

    Narrator: G oldilocks wa s so hung ry that she ate all of Ba by Bearsporridge.

    Goldilocks: Im full now. I think Ill take a rest.

    Narrator: G oldilocks sat do wn on Dadd y Bea rs chair.

    Goldilocks: This is much too hard!

    Narrator: Goldilocks sat down on Mummy Bears chair.

    Goldilocks: This is much too soft!

    Narrator: G oldilocks sat do wn o n Baby Bears chair.

    Goldilocks: This is just right!

    Narrator: But G oldilocks was to o big for Bab y Bea rs chair, so the

    chair broke!

    Goldilocks: (falling down from the chair) Ouch! Oops! The cha ir is

    broken.

    Narrator: G oldilocks decided to g o upsta irs for a sleep. She tried

    Dad dy Bears bed .

    Goldilocks: This is much too hard.

    Narrator: Goldilocks tried Mummy Bears bed.

    Goldilocks: This is much too soft.

    Scene 2 (inside the cottage)

    Narrator: G oldilocks went inside the three b ea rs cotta ge and found

    their porridg e on the kitchen ta ble.

    Goldilocks: (sniffing ) What a smell! What s that? Wow ! Loo k at tha t! Itlooks delicious!

    Narrator: G oldilocks woke up and jumped o ut of the bed .

    Goldilocks: Oh my!

    Narrator: G oldilocks ran away a s fast as she could.

    Goldilocks: (running aw ay) Ahhhhhh!

    Baby Bear: (crying ) Oh de ar! I didnt want to scare her aw ay!

    Narrator: The three bea rs never saw G oldilocks ag ain.

    Scene 3 (inside the cottage)

    Narrator: Soon, the three bears came ba ck from their walk.

    Baby Bear: Im so hungry!

    Daddy Bear: G rrrrrrr! Someones bee n ea ting my porridg e.

    Mummy Bear: Ahhhhh! Someones bee n ea ting my porridg e.

    Baby Bear: Hmmmph! Someones been eat ing my porridg e, and

    theyve eaten it all up!

    Narrator: The three b ea rs were so sad . Dad dy Bea r went to sit

    down.

    Daddy Bear: G rrrrrrr! Someone s bee n sitting in my cha ir.

    Mummy Bear: (running from the kitche n) Ahhhhh! Someo nes been sitting

    in my chair.

    Baby Bear: Hmmmph! Someones been sitting in my chair and theyve

    broken it!

    Narrator: Now, Da dd y Bea r and Mummy Bear were very angry. The

    three bears went upstairs.

    Daddy Bear: Grrrrrrr! Someones been sleeping in my bed.

    Mummy Bear: Ahhhhh! Someones been sleeping in my bed.

    Baby Bear: Hmmmph! Someones been sleeping in my bed and shes

    still there!

    Goldilocks: This is just right!

    Narrator: G oldilocks lay d ow n in Bab y Bears bed and fell fast a sleep.

    Narrator: Then, Hansel and G rete l saw a pretty cotta ge.

    Hansel: Lets go a nd ask for some fo od .

    Gretel: That is a g reat idea, Hansel.

    Narrator: As Hansel and G rete l g ot closer to the house, they

    realized it was a special house.

    Hansel: Loo k! Its made of sweet s.

    Gretel: ...and g ingerbread!

    Hansel: Let s try some.

    Gretel: Its delicious!

    Narrator: Hansel and Gretel nibbled away like hungry mice.

    Sudd enly an old woman opened the d oor.

    Witch: You a re ea ting my house. Are you hungry?

    Hansel and Gretel: (jumping in shock and dropping their foo d) Were so

    sorry.

    Hansel: We d idnt mea n to e at your house...

    Gretel: ...but we were so hungry.

    Witch: (smiling sweetly) Come inside, dear children.

    Narrator: Hansel and G retel stepped inside the house. Then the

    old woman locked the door.

    Witch: How d are you eat my cot tage! Now, I will ea t you,

    bo y! And you, lazy g irl, can g et to work!

    Hansel and Gretel: (scared and starting to cry) No, we d idnt mean to.

    Were sorry.

    Narrator: She wa s a w icked witch!

    Scene 2 (in the forest)

    Narrator: One da y, they got lost deep among the trees.

    Gretel: Hansel, where a re w e? Its gett ing late .

    Hansel: I dont know, Gretel.

    Gretel: Im very hungry.

    Hansel: Me too.

    Gretel: Father will come a nd find us.

    Hansel and Gretel

    Characters : Narrator, Father, Hansel, Gretel, Witch

    Scene 1 (at home)

    Narrator: Hansel and G retel lived near a da rk forest with their father

    and their stepmother.

    Father: G oo d morning, children. Did you sleep w ell?

    Hansel: Yes, I slep t very we ll.

    Gretel: Me too, Father.

    Father: Excellent. What a re you going to d o to da y?

    Hansel: We are g oing to g et some sticks in the wood s.

    Father: But, you do that everyday!

    Gretel: We know ! But stepmother told us she needed firewoo d

    everyday to keep our cotta ge wa rm.

    Father: Well, be careful. You may get lost if you g o too deeply into

    the woods.

    Hansel: Do nt wo rry, Father.

    Scene 3 (at the witchs cottage)

    Narrator: The w itch locked Hansel in a chicken ca g e.

    Witch: You a re too skinny to ea t now, b ut I will fatten you up. Little g irl,

    ge t me some g ingerbread .

    Gretel: No, I wont.

    Witch: Then, I could ea t you first!

    Hansel: Please Gretel, do as she says.Narrator: Each day, the witch fed Hansel lot s of sweets and g ingerbread .

    And each day, she felt Hansels finger to see if he was fat

    enoug h to eat, b ut he knew she couldnt see well.

    Witch: Show me your finge r, b oy!

    Hansel: (holding out a chicken b one) Here it is.

    Witch: (g rumbling ) Still too thin!

    Narrator: Soon the witch grew t ired of wa iting.

    Witch: I cant w ait any longer! I shall eat you tomorrow !

    Hansel: Oh no!

    Gretel: (crying) Oh dea r!

    Witch: Little girl, go a nd cut the wo od to ma ke the o ven nice and hot.

    Narrator: Hansel began to worry and G retel couldnt stop crying.

    Narrator: The next morning, the w itch decided to ea t b oth children.

    Witch: (craftily)G rete l, climb into the oven to see if its hot enoug h.

    Gretel: I do nt know how. Show me.

    Witch: Stupid girl! Like this!

    Narrator: Suddenly, G rete l had a g rea t idea . As the witch bentright over, clever Gretel pushed her inside the o ven

    and slammed the do or.

    Witch: (screaming) Its too hot! Let me out, little girl. LETME

    OUT!!

    Gretel: (opening the chicken cage) Come out, Hansel.

    Hansel: Where is the wicked witch?

    Gretel: I pushed her into t he oven and locked the d oo r.

    Hansel: You a re so clever and brave!

    Narrator: They to ok the witchs stolen treasure. Then, Hansel

    and G rete l found their wa y out of the d ark forest, and

    soon found their way home again.

    Hansel and Gretel: (shouting with joy and running to wa rds the house) Father!

    Father! We are home.

    Father: Hansel! G retel! Where have you b een? I have been so

    worried.

    Hansel: We g ot lost in the wood s and the w icked witch tried to

    eat us.

    Father: Oh my! I am sorry I let you g o into the forest. I missed

    you very much. Your stepmother has gone . She can

    never hurt you again.

    Narrator: Hansel, Gretel, and their fa ther lived ha ppily ever after.

    Mother: Did you ge t a g ood price for the cow ?

    Jack: No, Mom. But I got these mag ic be ans instead !

    Mother: (angry) What? Oh, you foolish boy!

    Jack: Mom, they will make us rich! Trust me.

    Mother: No way! These b ea ns are useless!

    Narrator: J acks mother was very cross and t hrew the beans out of the

    window.

    Scene 2 (on the ground & in the castle)

    Narrator: During the night, the mag ic beans grew into a hug e beanstalk.

    By morning, the b eanstalk reached hig h into t he sky. J ack was

    so surprised .

    Jack: Wow! This beansta lk is hug e!Narrator: Jack climbed and climbed and when he reached the top, he

    found a hug e castle.

    Jack: Oh my! There is a ca stle in the sky! I cant believe this.

    Narrator: Jack crept inside.

    Jack: (whispering to himself) Everything is so b ig in here. Who lives in

    this big castle?

    Narrator: Suddenly, the floo r beg an to shake.

    Jack: (scared) What is that noise?

    Giant: (shouting) Fee, fi, fo, fum, I smell the b loo d of a n Eng lishman ...

    Be he alive or be he de ad , Ill g rind his bones to ma ke my bread .

    Jack: (whispering) Oh no! Its a giant! What can I do? Is there any placeto hide? Oh, there is a place .

    Scene 1 (at home)

    Narrator: Once upon a time there wa s a b oy ca lled J ack. He lived in a

    small cottage w ith his mother. J ack and his mother were very

    poo r. All they had was a cow.

    Mother: J ack, we d ont have a ny money. So, I think we have to sell the

    cow.Jack: Okay, Mom. I will take the cow to the market.

    Mother: Be careful, J ack.

    Narrator: On the w ay to the market, J ack met a little old man.

    Old man: G oo d morning, young b oy. Where a re you taking that cow?

    Jack: Im ta king it to the ma rket , sir. My mother and I are poo r, so w e

    need some money.

    Old man: I would like to buy the cow from you.

    Jack: Really?

    Old man: I dont have money. Instead, Ill give you five magic beans.

    Jack: Magic beans? Mmm.

    Old man: They will make you rich.

    Narrator: J ack had to think ab out it. He wanted t o make his mother

    happy.

    Jack: Okay! You can take the cow!

    Narrator: J ack ran a ll the way home . He wa s so excited to tell his mother

    ab out the old man and the mag ic bea ns.

    Jack: (running home) Mom, Mom, Mom! Loo k what I have got!

    Narrator: With his axe, J ack chopped do wn the b eanstalk.

    Giant: Ahhhhh!

    Narrator: The g iant fell to the g round with a thud. That was the end o f

    him!

    Mother: Oh my! Its a g iant! J ack, what is going on?

    Jack: The mag ic beans grew into this huge be ansta lk. So, I climbed

    to the top and found the g iants castle. I wa tched this hen lay a

    perfect g olden eg g .

    Mother: Are you telling me the truth, J ack?

    Jack: (smiling) Yes, Mo m. Youll see.

    Narrator: J ack wa s right. The hen laid a g olden eg g every da y and J ack

    and his mother were never poor ag ain.

    Scene 3 (in the castle & at home)

    Narrator: As soon as the giant was full, he fell fast asleep.

    Jack: Now he is asleep. I will take the hen and climb back down the

    beanstalk.

    Narrator: J ack quickly picked up the g iants hen. But the hen beg an to

    squawk and flap its wings.

    Jack: Shh! Be q uiet ! The g iant might wa ke up!

    Narrator: The g iant wo ke up!

    Giant: (shouting) Fee, fi, fo, fum, I smell the b loo d o f an Englishman!

    Jack: (running) Oh no! Time to go!

    Narrator: J ack ran back to the beansta lk and climbed d ow n as fast as he

    could!

    Giant: (yelling) Ill ge t you!

    Narrator: J ack reached the bo ttom o f the bea nstalk.

    Mother: J ack, where have you be en? Why do you have a hen?

    Jack: Mom, hurry! Give me an axe!

    Mother: Here you are. What a re you g oing to d o w ith an axe?

    Narrator: J ack hid in a cupboard a nd wa tched a s the g iant a te five sheep

    for his mea l. Then he ca lled for his hen.

    Giant: Lay me a g olden eg g.

    Narrator: J ack watched in amazement as the hen laid a perfect g olden

    egg .

    Jack: Its amazing ! I wish I had tha t hen. Then Mom a nd I would b e

    rich.

    The Little Red Hen

    Dog: I dont like t o wo rk!

    Rat: I have to drink some juice.

    Litt le Red Hen: Then I must d o it myself.

    Narrator: So the Little Red Hen d id it herself.

    Scene 2 (on the farm)

    Narrator: As time w ent b y, the wheat g rew ripe.

    Litt le Red Hen: The whea t is rea dy now. Who w ill help me cut the whea t?

    Cat: Not I!

    Dog: Not I!

    Rat: Not I!

    Cat: (yawning) Im tried.

    Dog: (yawning) Me too.

    Rat: (yawning) So a m I.

    Litt le Red Hen: Then I must harvest it myself.

    Narrator: The Little Red Hen worked hard by herself all day in the

    hot sun. Soon the wheat w as read y to carry.

    Litt le Red Hen: It is very heavy. Who will help me carry the wheat?

    Cat: Not I!

    Dog: Not I!

    Rat: Not I!

    Cat: (grumbling) We a re g oing for a w alk.

    Dog: (grumbling) We cant help.

    The Little Red Hen

    Characters : Narrator, Little Red Hen, Cat, Dog, Rat, Miller

    Scene 1 (on the farm)

    Narrator: One da y on the farm, the Little Red Hen found some

    grains of wheat.

    Litt le Red Hen: Wow ! Look what I found on the g round. I want to plant

    them. Who w ill help me plant them?

    Cat: Not I!

    Dog: Not I!

    Rat: Not I!

    Cat: I am g oing to take a nap.

    Dog: Me too!

    Rat: I am g oing to read a newspap er.

    Litt le Red Hen: Then I must d o it myself.

    Narrator: The Little Red Hen worked hard a ll da y and planted a ll the

    grains of wheat herself.

    Litt le Red Hen: It w as hard to plant all those g rains.

    Narrator: The Little Red Hens wheat g rew, but the w eeds g rew,

    too.

    Litt le Red Hen: Oh, look! Weeds a re all around . Who w ill help me weed?

    Cat: Not I!

    Dog: Not I!

    Rat: Not I!

    Cat: I dont know how to w eed !

    Cat: But, Im hungry.

    Dog: Me too.

    Rat: So am I.

    Litt le Red Hen: You never wanted to help me. Why should I share my

    bread with you?

    Narrator: So Ca t, Dog , and Rat stayed hungry and the Little Red

    Hen and her chicks ate up all the b read .

    Scene 3 (on the farm)

    Narrator: Once all her wheat had been ground into flour, the LittleRed Hen returned to the farm.

    Litt le Red Hen: Who w ill help me make a nd b ake my bread?

    Narrator: Nobo dy answered. Ca t, Dog and Rat were a ll sleeping .

    Litt le Red Hen: Then I will make and bake it myself!

    Narrator: When the bread was read y, Ca t, Dog , and Rat smelt

    something delicious.

    Litt le Red Hen: Who will help me eat my bread?

    Cat: Me!

    Dog: Me!

    Rat: Me, me, me!

    Litt le Red Hen: (laughing) Ha! Ha ! Ha! Who is asking you? I am ca lling all

    my little chicks to help me eat my bread.

    Rat: (grumbling) Dont ask us anymore!

    Litt le Red Hen: Then I must ca rry it to the mill myself.

    Narrator: So, the Little Red Hen carried it to the mill.

    Miller: G ood afte rnoon, Little Red Hen. How can I help you,

    today?

    Litt le Red Hen: Here is all the wheat that I have g rown. Will you g rind it

    into flour?

    Miller: Of co urse.

    Litt le Red Hen: Thank you.

    Narrator: So the miller ground the wheat into flour.

    Scene 1 (in the forest)

    Narrator: Once upon a time, there was a girl called Little

    Red Riding Hood. She lived with her mother and

    father in a cott ag e in the forest.

    Mother: Little Red Riding Hood, your g randmother is ill. I

    wo uld like you to take this cake to her. It will make

    her feel better.

    Little Red Riding Hood: Okay, Mother.

    Father: Rememb er, wa lk straight there. Do not stop or

    ta lk to strang ers.

    Little Red Riding Hood: Dont wo rry. I will not ta lk to any strangers.

    Mother & Father: Be careful, Little Red Riding Hood.

    Narrator: Little Red Riding Hood started to wa lk through

    the woods to her grandmothers house.

    Little Red Riding Hood: Oh! What beautiful flow ers! Grandmother loves

    flowers. Ill pick some for her.

    Narrator: Little Red Riding Hood stopped to pick some

    flow ers. The big , ba d w olf crept up be hind her.

    Wolf: Hello, little g irl. Where a re you g oing?

    Little Red Riding Hood: Im taking this cake to Grandmother.

    Wolf: How kind o f you! Your g randmot her will be happy.

    Where does your grandmother live?

    Little Red Riding Hood: She lives in a cot tage right next to the b ig treeover the hill.

    Characters : Narrator, Mother, Father, Little Red Riding Hood, Wolf,

    Grandmother, Woodcutter

    Little Red Riding Hood

    Wolf: I see . Take care o f yourself. Goo d-bye, little g irl.

    Little Red Riding Hood: G oo d-bye, Mr. Wolf.

    Narrator: The wolf had a p lan.

    Ugly duckling: I should hide there so no a nimals can find me.

    Narrator: The ug ly duckling hid in a reed b ank all throug h the

    summer and all throug h the autumn.

    Ugly duckling: (lonely and sad ) Why am I so big and ugly? All I want

    are some friends to play w ith.

    Narrator: One day, the ugly duckling saw beautiful, large, white

    birds flying in the sky.

    Ugly duckling: (looking up to the sky) They a rent ug ly and g rey like

    me. They a re bea utiful. I wish I could b e like them.

    Then I wo uld fly away.

    Narrator: But the ugly duckling didnt fly away.

    Ugly duckling: Thats just a dream. This is the only place I will be for

    my whole life.

    Narrator: He hid in the reeds all through the cold winter, always

    by himself.

    Ugly duckling: (shivering) Im so co ld.

    Narrator: But it w as too late. The three w hite birds had seen the

    ugly duckling.

    Swan 1: Why are you all by yourself?

    Ugly duckling: (crying ) I wa s hiding be cause Im so ug ly.

    Swan 2: But youre no t ug ly. Youre as beaut iful as we are.

    Ugly duckling: No w ay. I am a big, g rey, and ug ly duckling.

    Swan 3: No, you a re not . Loo k at yourself in the river.

    Narrator: The ug ly duckling looked at himself in the river and

    saw not a n ugly duckling, but a beautiful, white swan.

    Ugly duckling: (whispering ) Im white, not grey! Im not an ugly

    First & Second little pigs: Bricks?

    Third lit tle pig: Yes. I wa nt to build a strong house.

    Second lit tle p ig: But, b ricks a re hea vy.

    Narrator: So the three little pigs beg an to build their houses.

    First little pig: I finished my house o f straw.

    Narrator: So, he huffed and he puffed and he HUFFED a nd

    he PUFFED.

    Wolf: (puffing) Whooo! Whooo !

    Narrator: But he couldnt blow the house of bricks in.

    Wolf: Whats wrong?

    Narrator: But the b eet les friends thought she wa s ugly, so he left her

    Narrator: All summer, she listened happily to the birds sing ing sweet ly,

    but winter soon came along.

    Thumbelina: Its getting co lde r. I need to find somewhere wa rm to stay.

    Narrator: Thumbelina wa lked in the snow. She tried to find

    somewhere warm.

    Thumbelina: Oh, Im freezing . Help me!

    Narrator: J ust then, a fieldmouse came and rescued her.

    Fieldmouse: You ca n stay with me, but you must ma rry my friend , the

    mole. He lives underground.

    Thumbelina: (crying) Oh no ... not a gain!

    Narrator: It was too cold outside , so Thumbe lina had to stay with the

    fieldmouse.

    end of his tunnel.

    Thumbelina: I like singing songs. La, la, la, ...

    Narrator: One night a toa d stole her away

    Thumbelina: (crying) What are you doing? Where are you taking me?

    Toad: Im taking you to my son.

    Narrator: The toad t rapped Thumbelina on a lily pad so she could not

    g et away.

    Toad: You will marry my son!

    Thumbelina: (crying) Oh no! Your son is horrible!

    Narrator: A fish heard Thumbelina crying and nibb led the lily pad free.

    Fish: (whispering ) Thumb elina , Thumb elina! Dont cry. I will save

    you.

    Narrator: When Thumbelina floa ted aw ay, a b ea utiful butterfly came

    by.

    Thumbelina: (sadly) I must sta y here. The fieldmouse is planning my

    wedding to the miserable mole.

    loo k at the outside world.

    Thumbelina: Ill miss this beautiful land and blue sky.
