To All Players, Coaches, Referees, Club Officials & Officers,
Parents/Guardians.
Prior to returning to training we would ask that you read through our
Boyne RFC Covid-19 Induction training to familiarise yourself with our
guidelines for a safe return to Rugby within the club. These will be
updated as advised by IRFU.
Once you have completed the Induction training please confirm this with
your team compliance officer prior to recommencement of training.
It is imperative that everyone involved understands the protocols during
these very unusual times.

Travel to/from the Club
• Complete in advance Pre-Return To
Rugby Personal Assessment Declaration
• Travel alone, where possible or with
member of the same household.
• Only one parent/guardian should travel
with younger players where possible.
• No Parent/Guardian not directly involved
permitted to observe or attend.
• Driver must remain in vehicle or leave the
grounds and return at collection time.
• Players to arrive no more than 5 minutes
before session and must arrive ready as
there will be no access to changing rooms.
• Players must not physically greet each-
other at any stage.
Check in Process
• Check in and confirm attendance with your Team COVID-19 Officer.
• Post check-in, all Players must go to training zone area immediately.
Clubhouse and Facilities
• All clubhouse facilities will remain closed, except
for toilet facilities.
• Players must bring own LABELLED water bottles
and never share.
• Players should bring a small hand sanitizer or
antiseptic wipes with them.
• Players must bring their own equipment ( Stretch
bands, foam rollers etc.) and must not share with
anyone.
• Coaches inform players of their training
pods and players must remain in these
pods as directed.
• Each Pod/Team/Group will be zoned on
the pitch by colour/number/section
• Movement between zones minimised
and controlled.

Post-Training
Social distancing behaviours
• Players must refrain from high fives and handshakes and must remain apart at breaks.
• Avoid touching your face and practice good cough/sneeze etiquette, disposing of tissues in a
responsible manner.
• If a ball from another zone comes across, return using a kick along the ground, not picking up the ball.
• No Spitting or clearing of nostrils on pitch or grounds.
Pitch (grounds)
• Players must leave immediately after
training.
• Hands must be washed and sanitised on
leaving.
• All personal equipment to be washed and
sanitised after use.
• If a player becomes unwell post-training,
they should contact their GP/HSE/NHS
and then inform the club.
• Members should remind others of
guidelines in a respectful manner if
witnessing poor practices.
• Repeated poor practice should be
reported to the club.
• Coaches must submit and get approved training plans, dates, times etc to Covid-19 Safety
Officer in advance
• Coaches must also submit a sample session online to their TEAM Covid-19 Officer to
ensure adherence to guidelines.
• If applicable, coaches must provide feedback to their TEAM Covid-19 officer post session.
• Coaches must ensure Covid-19 Officer has access to training registration list.
• Coaches must ensure players are briefed on guidelines regarding travel.
• Ensure all players have completed Pre-Return To Rugby Personal Assessment Declaration
checked in and sanitised their hands.
• Have a detailed training plan to communicate to players to reduce mingling.
• Ensure minimum amount of equipment as possible is used.
• Communicate pods to players and ensure players remain in these pods as directed.
• Coaches must ensure only facilities approved by the Covid-19 Safety Officer are used.
• All meetings must take place on the pitch, adhering to social distancing, and must be a
maximum of 5 minutes.

Covid-Compliance
Check-in/Pre-training
• Training zones must be clearly marked out prior to training session to avoid
lag time between sessions.
• Coaching should only take place where social distancing can be guaranteed.
• Players must refrain from high fives or handshakes.
• Good cough/sneeze etiquette must be practiced and tissues disposed of responsibly.
• Avoid touching your face.
• Remain apart from each other during breaks.
• If a ball from another zone comes across, return the ball with a kick along the ground.
Refrain from handling the ball
• Social Distancing is advised when travelling in vehicles from/to training.
• No spitting or cleaning of nostrils on pitch or grounds.

• Ensure all players leave the grounds immediately and do not mingle.
• Ensure equipment used is sanitised post-session and stored for future use by that
team only.

Coaches must ensure all activities are carried out in
strict adherence to IRFU guidelines in individual
phases/steps.
• Only one parent should travel with younger players where possible
- No parents not directly involved in the training should attend or observe the training.
• Driver must remain in the vehicle or leave and return at appointed collection time.
• Players must not arrive more than 5 minutes before training.
• Players must not physically greet each-other.
• Players must arrive ready to play, as there will be no access to changing rooms.
• Parents/Guardians of players with specific medical conditions can remain in car-
park in case of emergency, once guidelines are adhered to.
• All Parents/Guardians must ensure
Children/Youths are fully aware of the
guidelines enforced in the current phase.
• Parents/Guardians must ensure the Team
Covid-19 Officer is made aware of any
medical conditions the player may have.

Travel to/from Club
• All registration should take place online where possible.
• Parents/Guardians should complete the IRFU Pre-Return to Rugby Personal
Assessment Declaration prior to attending.
• Parents/Guardians should not approach check in areas where possible.
• Each Player should know their training zone provided by coaches before
attending.
• Pods will remain the same throughout the phases from exercise to exercise.
• Bathroom breaks will be staggered with no grouping.
• Access to dressing rooms is prohibited during these phases, so
Parents/Guardians should be mindful when packing player's bags.

• All Children must have their own LABELLED equipment and must never share water
