You could also wander along one of the Two Rivers Walks. Alternatively enjoy a peaceful boat trip up and down the beautiful River Frome.

Either catch the 30 or 40 bus back to Corfe Castle, or follow the Purbeck Way walking route from opposite Wareham Quay to Corfe Castle via Stoborough and Creech Heaths (approx 5 ¾ miles).

Idea 4: Wareham to Kingston and Swyre Head –

Catch the 40 bus from South Bridge bus stop (next to the Discover Purbeck Information Centre) to Kingston, getting off the bus at the Scott Arms bus stop. Walk towards the pub, pass the entrance and keep following the road through the village to the second car park. Go through the car park and turn left to join a path up hill to Swyre Head. On the left is the ‘Encombe Bowl’, in which nestles the impressive Encombe House and lake. In the distance on the cliff top to the left you will see St Aldhelm’s Head. Ahead of you the land falls away steeply to the coast, so turn right following the path along the ridge. At the wall go through the gate and follow the path to the next called ‘Heavens Gate’ (1/3 mile). Turn right here and follow the path and road back to the Scott Arms.

Before catching the bus back to Wareham, why not stop for lunch and enjoy the view of Corfe Castle from the pub garden?
