Co-Plus®

Cohesive bandage

Co-Plus provides non-slip, light support or fixation as the final layer in a dressing retention bandage. It adheres only to itself, meaning it does not stick to fur or hair and no pins or clips are required to hold the bandage in place. The flexible substrate means that Co-Plus is able to conform even to the most awkward body contours. Co-Plus is suitable for use with the Robert Jones bandage technique.

Tensoplus®

Strong support cohesive bandage

Tensoplus is a strong support cohesive bandage used for the same indications as when traditional elastic adhesive bandages would be used but when extra support may be needed e.g. for large animals. It is a combination of cotton, viscose and elastic yarns coated with a cohesive emulsion, which allows it to adhere only to itself and not to the animals skin. It is quick and easy to apply and has limited stretch properties, allowing strong controlled support. Tensoplus is suitable for use with the Robert Jones bandage technique.

Easifix® Cohesive

Cohesive retention bandage

The Easifix Cohesive retention bandage is suitable for the secure fixation of wound dressings and plaster splints. Conventional retention bandages gradually start to slip when applied to joints or securing plaster splints, but Easifix Cohesive consists of a latex-coated cohesive bandage made from viscose and polyester and it sticks securely to itself.

BSN have recently visited a number of equine hospitals to research product usage. These visits concluded that Tensoplast Reverse Wound bandage is a preferred EAB when bandaging the hind legs of a difficult horse.

The adhesive part facing outwards allows for easy roll on application and with little drag effect, making it quicker and therefore safer to apply. This also gives more control with regards to how much tension is applied.

Cutimed® Sorbact® Range

DACC-coated antimicrobial dressings

Cutimed Sorbact is the first wound dressing that binds microbes irreversibly due to a coating of DACC, a hydrophobic fatty acid.

Most bacteria and fungi found within a wound are also hydrophobic, so in a moist wound environment bacteria and fungi irreversibly bind to the dressings.

Cutimed Sorbact is effective in all wounds where the primary goal is to reduce bacterial burden, regardless of their aetiology including:

■ Chronic wounds e.g. diabetic foot, leg and pressure ulcers

■ Post-operative dehisced wounds

■ Traumatic wounds

■ After excision of abscesses

The dressings can also be used prophylactically.

Cutimed Siltec has been designed to facilitate exudate management. The non-adhesive silicone wound contact layer provides minimum discomfort when changing the dressing. Re-usable hot / cold pack

Physiopack is a reusable gel pack providing either hot or cold therapy. The gel pack can be cooled in a freezer or heated in either hot water or a microwave. Cold: It’s ideal for the treatment of muscular, tendon and ligament injuries, reduction of oedema and muscular stiffness. Hot: Physiopack increases blood flow, elasticity and plasticity of collagen fibres reducing pain.
