NEW SLETTER SKYLINE HIGH December 2019 SEASONALHAZARDS Christmas is a time to enjoy, but please be aware it also comes with its own hazards when it comes to your pets. They will happily consume most festive fare, but don't forget chocolate is toxic to dogs, as are raisins, sultanas and grapes. It is also worth remembering that gravy containing onions or onion powder (common in instant gravy) is also toxic for our pets. Should your dog consume any of these foods, he or she will need prompt treatment. Christmas decorations can be hazardous, too. Take care with glass baubles, which may break, and keep tinsel out of reach to avoid any risk of swallowing by inquisitive pets. Winter health tips: Wrap dogs up well when outside, especially smaller breeds that can be more sensitive to the cold. Check paws after walks for lumps of grit, salt or snow / ice that could cause discomfort. Be vigilant near rivers and lakes, especially if frozen. Ensure your dogs can be easily seen at night. Consider reflective clothing and perhaps a small light attached to collars or coats. SEASONAL HAZARDSChristmas is a time to enjoy, but please be aware it also comes with its own hazards when it comes to your pets. They will happily consume most festive fare, but don't forget chocolate is toxic to dogs, as are raisins, sultanas and grapes.

Check paws after walks for lumps of grit, salt or snow / ice that could cause discomfort.
