Hip vs. Spinal Pain
Hip pain (due to OA) often reveals itself in walking and is made better with sitting.
Spinal pain of a discal nature is worse in sitting and better with standing or walking.

Adductor Magnus and Hamstring Length
While they do not cross the knee, they can have a major impact on knee extension.
In a research study done by NMT MidWest, 77 subjects had hamstring length measured and were found restricted (less than 155 degrees). These subjects than had only the Adductor Magnus treated, and hamstring length was remeasured. After treatment of 77 subjects (48 female / 29 male) the data shows that PNMT treatment of the Adductor Magnus alone can increase hamstring flexibility. After accounting for subjects who had no restriction, two subjects did not increase in hamstring flexibility at all and 7 subjects only increased in flexibility on one side.

Patello-Femoral SyndromeThis condition produces diffuse
pain throughout the anterior knee.
The patella is meant to track in a very precise line. Tightness in the Vastus Lateralis and weakness in the Vastus Medialis will move the patella out of its proper tracking alignment.
