BRIEF HISTORY
LEGAL BASIS Presidential Decree 1184 (INP Professionalization Law of1977) August 26, 1977 established the Academy.
Dep’t of National Defense Order 83 May 25, 1978 organized the Academy effective June
12, 1978.
Presidential Decree 1780January 15, 1981 granted Academic Charter to the
Academy.
LEGAL BASIS August 6,1980- Conferred BSPS degree to forty-five
Integrated National Police Officers “MAHARLIKA” Classof 1980 as its first graduates.
Republic Act 6975 (DILG Act of 1990)Supervision of PNPA was transferred from Philippine
National Police (PNP) to the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC).
Republic Act No. 7192Accepted female cadets in 1993 and had its first
woman graduate in 1995.
VISION
For the glory of God, the Academy is the center of professionalization and
character development of Public Safety Officers
endowed with the culture of SERVICE, INTEGRITY and
JUSTICE.
MISSION
To provide comprehensive education and training programs to transform
cadets into God-centered, community responsive Public Safety Officers trusted and respected by the people.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION1. Natural Born Filipino Citizen
2. Of Good Moral Character3. Male or Female; single and
with no parental and financial obligation
4. Must be 18-22 years old.5. Must be 5’4” for males and
5’2” for females.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION
6. Not more than 5kg of standard weight measurement corresponding to height, age and sex. 7. At least high school graduate before admission.8. Physically and mentally fit for cadetship training.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION9. No criminal, administrative or civil case
filed before any prosecutor’s office or any court of Justice and other derogatory records.10. Not a former cadet of PNPA or other service academies.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION11. Must pass the phases of PNPA
Admission:a. PNPA Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT)b. Neuro-Psychiatric Examinationc. Physical, Medical, Dental Examination (PMDE)d. Agility tests e. Interviews
EXEMPTED TO TAKE PNPA CAT• Valedictorian• Salutatorian• Summa Cum Laude• Magna Cum Laude• Cum LaudeNote: Provided he/she shall apply and submit the application form with certification of honor to reach PNPA registrar before deadline of submission of applications.
BENEFITS1. Full government scholarship for four years.2. Monthly training allowances
amounting to 29,000.00 while on training for 4 years with 13th month pay, cash gift and initial clothing allowance of P64,000.00;
3. Graduates are conferred with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Public Safety (BSPS);
BENEFITS IN TRI-SERVICE BUREAUAutomatic appointment in Police, Fire
and Jail service with the initial rank of Inspector (Lieutenant) upon graduation
