Our mission is to mobilize the Church to transform lives and communities In the Name of Christ.
April 2013
P.O. Box 368, Lebanon, IN 46052 765-482-6152 www.loveincbc.org
T here is nothing more rewarding than to
see people’s lives positively changed as
they find that they were created to have
value and a purpose in life. That is what is happening in the
beginning stages of Living Hope, a Transformational
Ministry of Love In the Name of Christ.
The Living Hope ministry will focus on strengthening faith,
personal finance management, marriage, parenting, stress
management, etc. The program is free to interested
neighbors. The only requirement is that the participants
must live in Boone County or attend a Boone County
affiliated church. They must possess a desire to learn and
be committed to attend every week.
Participants will benefit by increasing their life skills
knowledge. In addition, portions of their income can be
freed up when various resources such as food and gasoline
are subsidized for the duration of the program. Being a part
of the Love in the Name of Christ community and the Living
Hope ministry, individuals are offered a chance at being
known, loved, and supported as they recognize God as the
owner of all resources.
Following are examples of transformations already
happening through the Bible studies that have been held in
recent weeks.
Michael A faithful Love In the Name of Christ volunteer has taken Michael to the Veteran’s Hospital 11 times in the past three years. Michael’s mobility has increased immensely as a result of these visits. All of those car trips gave our volunteer opportunity to share his faith with Michael and a healthy relationship has developed. But here’s the great news! Michael, as a result of all of these conversations and the time invested by a volunteer, made a decision to enroll in the Living Hope program where he is involved in a DVD presentation and study of The Purpose Driven Life. His life is being transformed in the Name of Christ!
Sarah Sarah began her third series of Bible studies through the Living Hope ministry in March. Sarah, today, is quite different from the first day we met her. She was depressed, lonely, had no job and felt that no one could possibly love her just for who she is as a person. Since the very first class in Oct. 2012, Sarah has had many “breakthrough” moments. She now encourages her friends to join her for the Bible studies. Her face simply shines and she always has a smile. She has kept a job for quite some time now and because of her new found faith, Sarah has a desire to help others who are living a life without hope and purpose.
Sharon We have come to know Sharon through several contacts over the past four years. She has a sweet, gentle spirit demonstrated by the way she cares for her grandchildren who, along with their mother (Sharon’s daughter) live with her in a mobile home. There are two grandsons, and soon a third grandchild is expected. Sharon has always kept appointments for assistance and expressed her gratitude through thank you notes. Sharon’s daughter has some income but her wages are low. Sharon supplements the family income by sewing.
Sharon and her two grandsons are attending the Living Hope ministry. She is being exposed to the DVD presentation and study of The Purpose Driven Life. Would you please pray that Christ will transform her life as He has done in the lives of Michael and Sarah?

Volunteer Spotlight
I have been working at
the Love In the Name of
Christ (Love INC)
Clearinghouse (CH)
making and taking
telephone calls to and
from our less fortunate
neighbors almost since the day it opened.
Besides working in the CH, I have helped with home repairs,
building wheelchair ramps, providing neighbor
transportation and other activities for Love INC. The groups
of volunteers that I have worked with at Love INC are
dedicated and fun, but serious, concerning their volunteer
commitments. I have experienced both satisfaction and
frustration working at the CH. Satisfaction as a result of
being able to help numerous neighbors, and frustration
because we can’t be of more help to others because of the
limited resources in today’s economy.
Love INC has made great strides in Boone County because of
Donna and Wayne Adams’ day‐to‐day compassionate
leadership and a Love INC Board of Directors with a “why‐
not/can‐do” attitude.
I volunteer through several other organizations including my
home church, the Zionsville Christian Church. However, it is
my observation that the Love INC partnerships and many
volunteers create a synergism that multiplies the efforts of
each organization and volunteer.
Come join us in this journey to love our neighbors.
It’s hard to believe that a whole year has passed since April Wilson was hired as
Assistant Clearinghouse Coordinator. April was hired with the intentions of
becoming the full‐time Clearinghouse Coordinator within twelve to eighteen months and Donna Adams would become the assistant.
This transition will take place by May 6 at which time April will become the full‐time Clearinghouse Coordinator. Donna will then work
three days a week. That means that Donna Adams, who has been our full‐time Clearinghouse Coordinator since the ministry began in
July 2008, will have the opportunity to spend extra time this summer at home. She enjoys flowers, working in the garden, feeding the
birds, mowing yard, playing with the grandchildren and she enjoys the beauty of God’s creation. One of her favorite things to do is to
watch unusual cloud formations and anticipate the coming of Jesus Christ. [..they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of
heaven with power and great glory in brilliancy and splendor. Matt. 24:30] She feels especially grateful that God sent April Wilson to
follow in her footsteps at Love In the Name of Christ. Donna has devoted many hours developing the Clearinghouse ministry. She has
full confidence that April will not only sustain what is already in place, but will continue to make improvements.

Generous Grant Nets Part-Time Staff Person
Welcome Shirley Hunter! Through a generous grant
received through the REMC
Community Fund – Operation
RoundUP, we were given the
opportunity to hire a part‐
time staff person to help us
organize and implement the
Living Hope transformational
ministry. Weeks before we
had even submitted the grant
proposal, the Holy Spirit had prompted Shirley Hunter to
volunteer in our office. By the time we received the grant,
we knew we had the right person to take the part‐time
position of Transformational Ministry Coordinator. We
welcome Shirley to our team! And a big THANK YOU to all of
you who contribute in the Operation RoundUP fund when
you pay your REMC bill!
Financial resources are necessary to operate and we praise God for the
generosity of His people.
Our online donation page at www.loveincbc.org was recently redesigned to accept gifts to Love INC using a credit card or debit card. Setting up a recurring gift is an easy way to make a regular contribution without having to remember to write a check each month.
Also new on the site is the ability to make a contribution to Love INC in honor of, or in memory of someone. This is a great way to recognize a special accomplishment or pay a tribute to someone who means a lot to you. Love INC will send a notification of your contribution to the honoree or their family.
FROM THE DIRECTOR
Our community is made up of some of the most generous
people I have ever met. You really don‘t have to look very far to
see people with resources helping people who may have
inadequate resources or who may be suffering from the
consequences of a health problem, a job loss, a property loss, a
broken relationship, etc. That’s what makes Boone County such
a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
Every week more than 20 people
volunteer in the office of Love In
the Name of Christ because they
enjoy helping people with needs
and they do it in a way that
brings honor to our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ. No one ever
seeks personal credit for what
they do. The reason our
volunteers serve is because they
are fully aware that before they
found a relationship with Jesus
Christ, they were living in the
poverty of sin and selfishness
that leads to death. Because He
lived, died for our sins, and rose
again, we have a new, purpose‐
filled life!
On one recent Friday morning I
counted seven volunteers in our Clearinghouse at one time.
Some were entering data into a computer, others were taking
new calls for assistance, and still others were filing paperwork,
making follow up calls to our neighbors who had called earlier in
the week, and numerous other things. One thing I have noticed
is that there is always a joyous, light‐heartedness in the air. It’s
such a joy to help others that it becomes contagious as we work
together.
Among our regular volunteers, I have observed that they have
become like family to each other. They go to lunch with one
another, sharing pictures and stories of family life and events,
and pray for one another. It’s kind of like Facebook in a Christian
real life setting!
If you would like to experience an environment like the one just
described, just call our office at (765) 482‐6152 and ask for April
or Donna. We always welcome new volunteers!

FROM THE CLEARINGHOUSE Important Invitations First, we offer thanks to our Lord for providing two additional phone volunteers in the clearinghouse. We have asked the Lord for workers for the harvest of souls for His Kingdom and we believe He responded by sending Elaine Myers and Angie Owens. We are grateful for their love for Christ and His people, their compassion‐filled hearts, and quickness to learn.
Second, but not less important, we anticipate the return of Don Pearson (see Volunteer Spotlight article). We have missed his Monday morning presence. He has been on surgery leave for about five months. We look forward to his return this spring.
Soon the clearinghouse phone team will be busy personally calling our lady neighbors to invite them to this spring’s Boone Boutique. This is a fabulous morning of shopping for clothes, shoes, accessories and more with an unbeatable price: FREE! The semi–annual event is sponsored by the Zionsville United Methodist Church and hosted by First Community Church.
Inviting our neighbors to attend the event is important. The event is great fun. It is something good to anticipate. However, it is NOTHING compared to the big event that we do not want our friends to miss:
What: The marriage supper of Jesus Christ and His bride, the Church. Where: Heaven. When: As soon as the Father says
“Come!”

<REPLACING FURNITURE OR APPLIANCES? If you are replacing furniture or appliances, please consider
donating your gently used items to families in need. Love INC
volunteers pick up donated items on two Saturday mornings a
month from 9 am – noon. We have a continual need for dressers
and chests of drawers. To see the full list of items needed and the
procedures to make a donation, visit our website, and click on
Donate.
VOLUNTEER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Christ is the foundation but volunteers are a critical component
of the Love In the Name of Christ ministry. Love INC connects
people who have needs with caring people who can help share
His love in practical ways with others. If you feel prompted to
serve in this way, you can volunteer at Love INC of Boone County
by going to our website at www.loveincbc.org. Click on the Get
Involved tab and fill out a Talent Survey.
