Green Podium System

With special thanks to the Environmental Campaign Committee, Po Leung Kuk Camões

Tan Siu Lin Primary School is glad to receive a grant from the Environment and Conservation

Fund to fund our Green Podium Project.

In completion of the project in 2013, a refreshing green area on our fifth floor is

provided for our students and other school users. A variety of local plants are planted in the

area which provides students with a chance to learn about the local vegetation. Moreover,

students are trained to take care of the green area which further promotes an appreciation

and care for nature. In addition, other educational activities could be arranged in this green

area to raise students’ concern for our environment, too.

To our environment, the Green Podium System acts as an excellent oxygen generator

which consequently provides a good supply of oxygen for school users. It is also a good heat

insulator and waterproofing layer for the classrooms beneath which provides our students

with a more comfortable learning environment and furthers reduces our school’s carbon

emission.
