International Joke day 1st July
“Laughter is the best medicine” In aline with the same view Podarian of PIS (ICSE) humorously celebrated
the International Joke Day. It was marked on 11th July when the life time legendary comedians were
grated to remember for their immortal performances in the world of comedy.
Formation of the student council
Casting of Votes
The new academic year assured in the formation of a new council, at Podar International School ICSE,
Aurangabad. This council plays pivotal role in the working of the school administration. The council has
students that are both elected by students and selected by the house mentors. Thus the process is a
democratic and transparent one. On 27th day of June outstanding speeches were given by the nominated
members which was followed by casting of vote by students of class 6th to 11th. It was a close competition
in which Paritosh Sharma sprang up with flying colors.
Investiture ceremony The Investiture ceremony on 3rd July saw elected members taking their oath. They promised to disburse
their duties and responsibilities in the most proactive diligent manner.
The Principal Mr.Prashant Muley clearly listed his expectations from the new council. Apart from nurturing
leadership skill, he also emphasized on the values that one must inculcate.
The event ended on a note of positivity and willingness with the council promising to do very best they can.
Inter house Football Competition
“Abidoo” the Podar mascot confronted the football mascot ‘Fuleco’ in the PIFA (Podar Inter House
Football Association) football matches held in PIS, ICSE.
The matches were scheduled on 8th to 11th July for juniors (Boys and Girls), seniors( Boys and Girls) and
winner team respectively. The PIFA matches stood and will stand as wonderment event of the academic
year 2014-15.
The dexterous participants of the event were well coached by the school PT teachers uplifting their
performance level towards excellence.

Chocolate day 11th July
At PIS,ICSE, International World Chocolate Day was marked graciously on 10th July 2014. It was a day of
enthusiasm and fun.
It was a pleasant morning of grade IV A were looking forward to present the assembly. To begin with the
backdrop was inspiring to fill in the spirit of joy in each child. They included a wonderful introduction;
history of chocolate, health benefits a skit and a chocolate song.
Soon after that it was again a feast for the eyes. A projector based assembly was showcased by the same
students. The recipient was students of grade III and IV.
Class wise activities were performed by grade 1 and 2 named “Show and Tell Activity” imagined their
friend as their favorite chocolate.
Fruit and Vegetable Festival
On 17th July2014 all the vegetables from fields and fruits from orchard landed in Podar International
school (ICSE) IV and V were emblazoned with various fruits and vegetables. There was a display of
International fruits and vegetables at the entrance of school. The event stared with an assembly which
spoke of importance of the fruit-vege.
The fruits and vegetables danced on the melodious piece of music. There was a parade performed by the
fruit-vege . The function was inaugurated by the Vice Principal. The Podarian of class IV and V who were
disguised as fruits and vegetables explained the importance and shared the preparation.
Parivartan Drive 19th july
On the part of social awareness, to the people of Aurangabad, Podar International School ICSE has
conducted a rally with the title ‘Parivarthan Drive’ on 19th July 2014. The students from classes IX and X
participated enthusiastically. The Students have started their drive from school premises at 8 am. The
Banners and placard with awareness quotes haven been carried by the students all the way along with
the school musical band to draw the attention of the people.
The rally went up to Gajanan Maharaj Mandir and took the left road and covered the areas like Hedgewar
hospital Junction, Shashtri nagar and Jawahar colony on the way to school under the safety guidance of
teachers.
Children distributed some sheets covered with some slogans and messages to the people. Save the Earth,
responsibility and accountability etc. are the major points highlighted during the drive. The children
reached the school at 10 am after completing the drive successfully.
Inter house Fancy dress Competition
Role playing is one of the most important tools of learning particularly at the primary level. One role play
activity which every child have always enjoyed is when they get an opportunity to dress up as well for the
character.
Keeping this in view we at Podar International School ICSE, had conducted the fancy dress competition on
26th July for the children of class 1st and 2nd . The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to
blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the little flower by giving them an opportunity
to get on the stage and speak in front of an audience.
It was lovely to see children come dressed up in their colorful costume and speak a few sentences on the
character that they depicted. The amazing number of participants and the hard work of the parents
behind each child were highly commendable. Principle Mr. Prashant Muley appreciated for the efforts
took by students and teacher.
Webpage 30th July
Webpage designing and creating browser applications are one of the most sought out skills in today’s
digital era. Students today are exposed to technology in every walk of life.
To cultivate skills, an Inter house Web Page Design competition was conducted at Podar ICSE, on July 30th,
2014. The competition was open for students of classes VII,VIII and IX. Topic chosen for website was FIFA
World Cup 2014. Participants developed animated and interactive websites working in teams and
exhibited their creativity.
It was a tough competition and aimed at creating awareness about IT skills among students and spreading
the programming wave. Participant’s efforts were really commendable.
Topographical Field Survey
Topographical field trip was conducted on 31st July, Thursday for the 10th STD students as a final
assessment project.
116 students were divided into nine groups and were taken to the Sindone- Bindone area for the survey
from the school.
This survey was made for the student to have an experience of making actual survey of the ground and
representing the essential feature on the map. It was a great experience for the students under the
guidance of Mr. Anil Salve.
The students, in their own teams had elected a group leader and header. The responsibilities were
segregated among the students for surveying the relief features, water resources, soil vegetation, man-
made features of a particular area. Students also had an interaction with the local people to know more
about settlement and living conditions.
The area, Sindon- Bindon is 8 to 10 kms south of Aurangabad near Devlai. It was an educational trip and
was a great learning experience for the students.
