Grading and Reporting: Middle and High School
Setting the Stage – 8010 & 8020
● This spring, it was necessary to amend Policies 8010 and 8020 in response to the sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
● This fall, it has become necessary to amend these policies once more to accommodate a shift to a virtual environment and a 4x4 semester schedule.
● Upon the return to the standard 7-period day schedule, presumably next fall, Policies 8010 and 8020 amendments will sunset.
Highlights – 8010 & 8020
● Due to the September start, students have until 9/30/20 (extended from 9/15/20) to turn in Learning Packets to change 4th Quarter SY19-20 grades of Incomplete to Pass
Highlights – 8010 & 8020
● The work assigned to be completed during the asynchronous work periods on the schedule does not constitute homework under the policy; students may have assignments to be completed during asynchronous time as well as homework to be completed outside the scheduled school hours
Highlights – 8010 Elementary

● For athletic eligibility purposes, the most recent report card before the start of the season will continue to be used to determine a student’s eligibility for participation
Highlights – 8020 Secondary

● Continue using grading system from policy 8020 without setting content-specific recommendations for weighting each category graded
