    Policy Analyst

    Description: The Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador is seeking a professional, skilled

    and motivated individual to conduct research, analyze, develop, coordinate and deliver policy, reports and other written materials related to a variety of complex First Nations issues. Communications and advocacy are significant component of the tasks of the Policy Analyst. The incumbent will work closely with regional First Nation organizations, the Assembly of First Nations, federal and provincial departments and other organizations to support the mandate and objectives of the AFNQL.

    Who Can Apply: Candidates must have a university degree in a field related to the work

    conducted at the AFNQL, or 5 years of experience in a related field, be fluently bilingual in English/French (oral and written). Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in conducting research, analyzing information and producing positions related to various First Nation issues. Ideally, candidates should have experience in writing proposals, advocacy. The candidate should have experience working with First Nation organizations and within a Board/Committee environment.

    Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and education. Abilities & Skills: Candidates must have extensive knowledge and understanding of the First

    Nations political environment. The incumbent must possess excellent written and oral communication skills; have discretion and respect for confidentiality, strong presentation skills and familiar with technical writing and the ability to interpret technical materials for general and First Nation audiences. The incumbent must possess excellent team building, listening and have creative problem resolution skills. French and English is the working language.

    Personal Characteristics: Strong work ethic, good judgment, politically astute and ability to work well
