saying or doing something that could damage the addressee’s positive face

Politeness strategies

Positive strategies: To avoid given some kind of offense to the addressee’s faces, try to avoid a face-threat act protecting his positive face.

Negative strategies: the intention of disagree the listener damaging his/her positive face.
