INSTITUTIONS (ABOLITION) ACT, 196~. I

(Act Na 4 of 1969)

AN ACT

to provide for tbe abolitlom of the Monts de &ete ~nstit&oas in the

Union territory of Pondicherry and fdr matters comeeted therewith I

BE i t enacted by t h e Legislative Assembly of Pondicherry

- in the Tiventieth Year of the Republh of India as follaws :--

Short title, extent and cammencement.

1: (1) This Act may be called the Pondicherry Monts de

Piete Iatitutions (Ab~lition) Act, 1969. A

(2) I t extends to the whMe aF the Union territory of

Pondicherry.

(3) I t shail come into force on such date as the Goveu-n-

ment may, by notification in the Offieial Gazette, appoint.

2. In this Act, "Government" means the Administrator

appointed by the President under article 239 of the Cons&
