Location

Popa Falls Lodge is your gateway to the north – eastern corner of Namibia –with its perennial rivers, magnificent Indigenous woodlands, riverine forests, floodplains and reed- lined channels. Popa Falls Lodge is the ideal destination from which to explore the Mahango, Bwabwata, Buffalo Game Parks with over 450 species of birds recorded, wide variety of wildlife species, including elephant, hippo, water buffalo, crocodile, red Lachwe, reedbuck, roan and sable antelope even the elusive Sitatunga antelope can be observed. Abundant fish species such as Tigerfish, threespot, brims, kabeljou and greenheaded tilapia are just some of the species of game fish that occur in the Kavango River making it a popular destination for anglers.

The “falls” are in fact a series of cascades created by a quartzite ledge that cause the river to split into numerous channels with the main view point being at Popa Falls Lodge.

Accommodation

This mind-boggling Lodge provides a complete makeover of the accommodation that now have a fresh ambience that blends in with the surrounding environment and overlooks the rivers streams opposite the Hippo Island, allowing guests to experience the magical feel of our unique hospitality. The Lodge has 10 river chalets and 3 family/double units, 10 campsites as well as 3 over lander campsites and a conference room which have been optimized to offer amazing vistas over the Kavango River a sense of comfort in natural settings. The lodge will have in total 40 beds when the 4 luxury units on the Hippo Island have been completed later.

Activities

There are a number of activities at Popa Falls Lodge

• Daily planed and exclusive guided game drives to surrounding Bwabwata ( Mahango and Buffalo) game parks: These are available in the morning, afternoon and night as well as whole day (sunrise to sunset)

• Fishing trips: These are available in the morning, afternoon as well as whole day (sunrise to sunset)

• Boat Cruise trips: These are exclusive game viewing cruise trips on the houseboats and normal cruise trips to surrounding Bwabwata( Mahango and Buffalo) game parks.

Dining

The restaurant is fully equipped and designed to cater for a capacity of 80 people inside whist the patio takes a seating capacity of 50 to 60 people outside. The bar is also fully serviced and spacious in order to cater for large number of visitors.
