summer readingprograms 2012A summer full of fun and reading begins on Friday, June 1st! We have a reading program for every age! Participants can earn prizes for reading over the summer months!

Dream Big, Read – Youth Summer Reading ProgramPreschool and elementary age children earn prizes for reading (or being read to) books of their choice throughout the summer! Simply keep track of the number of hours read and every 5 hours earn a prize. The goal is to read 30 hours before August 8th.

Own the Night – Middle & High School Summer Reading ProgramTeens earn prizes for each week they finish and submit a book into the reading program, “Own the Night”. Partici-pants can submit books of their choice as well as school summer reading requirements. Stay up late, “Own the Night” and read!

Between the Covers – Adult Summer ReadingThis year our theme for adult summer reading is Between the Covers, so grab a cup of tea and a fluffy pillow and crawl between the covers of a good book. Sign up by visiting the library or by going to www.summerfun.portagelibrary.info starting June 1st. Fill in a short form and start reading! To redeem prizes submit the titles and authors of the books you read or listen to by phone, or at the library, You can enter titles from June 1st to August 8th. Anyone 18 and over is eligible to join. Adult Summer Reading Sponsors: Kazoo Books and Craftsman Chop Company
