As a composite of individual works, the library represents the many coexistent cultures of a self-contained city. This library was based spe-GM½GEPP]SRXLIGMX]SJ1ERLEXXERERHXLIKVMH-ded system devised by the Commissioners Plan of 1811.
1YGLPMOI1ERLEXXER´WKVMHXLIKVMHSJXLMW PM-brary sets out programmatic rectangular strips that act as the narrower “streets”, with several central “avenues” that access each of these strips. At unique moments of circulation the grid is interrupted to provide diagonal means of access. AQUATIC SPA%RFDVGHO7RUR3DQDPD
Summer, 2008
The aquatic spa functions as a refuge for those who need relief from life’s daily pressures and as a research facility that studies the impact of proximity to water on the stressed soul. Labyrithi-an paths are introduced as a crucial meditative element. Inherent in the project is the idea that the shortest distance between two points often neglects the contemplative qualities of the longer path.
The project is located in Bocas del Toro, a beautiful tourist des-tination, close enough to the United States, but still far enough away to provide distance from the ordinary. The site is located a quarter of a mile off shore, so that it remains private but still maintains accessibility to the small but quaint village of Bocas del Toro.

The decision to design this lamp was motivated by three desires: to get a chance to familiarize myself with my SJ½GI´WPEWIVGYXXIVXSGVIEXIERYTPMJXMRKWSYVGISJPMKLXfor the windowless Brooklyn apartment I was living in, and an attempt to create something three dimensional that could be mailed to friends living throughout the United States. I was extremely happy with the outcome, because it was a success on all three fronts.

EAST/WEST COMIC1HZ<RUN1HZ<RUN
6XPPHU
I’ve often had the desire to create a comic or book of illustrations to express myself in ways that architecture rarely permits. After moving to Brooklyn and discovering the Desert Island comic book store in Williamsburg, I found hundreds of books that accomplished exactly what I was looking to create. It inspired me and helped QI½RHSXLIVPMOIQMRHIHMRHMZMHYEPW[MXLETEWWMSRJSVXLILYQFPIEVXJSVQSJWIPJpublished comic books that is growing into a massive subculture. After the owner agreed to display my book, I quickly began compiling a collection of my drawings and ended up submitting copies of the book to the New York Camera Club’s Zine Fair. I’ve also been mailing them to friends from high school and college, in an effort to stay connected after graduating.

ALEX THEATER*OHQGDOH&DOLIRUQLD

This competition entry for the historic Alex Theater focused on creating shad-ing devices for pre and post show gath-erings. These schemes try to call back to the Egyptian era that the theater’s design attempts to mimic. Papyrus-like struc-tures were used to emulate the mood of the Nile.

GUGGENHEIM KIOSK
Z HOTEL INTERIOR

4XHHQV1HZ<RUN$XWXPQ
In addition to designing The Wright restaurant and ERIWTVIWWSFEV JSV XLI+YKKIRLIMQ1YWIYQ%R-dre Kikoski was asked to create concepts for a more distinguished food kiosk to compete with the hot dog vendors that often crowd the sidewalks outside of the museum. I built this model for one of these schemes that used cast resin panels and a teardrop form based on one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s preferred geometries. The New York City’s Landmarks Preser-vation Commission’s denial of the design was written about in the October 2010 issue of The Architect’s Newspaper.
This model helped visualize a design for the bedrooms in the Z Hotel. In order to see materials in the space, I created elevations drawn with scanned and color matched material samples. After matching these ma-terials I printed them to high gloss paper and applied them to foamcore creating a physical model that had the appearance of a 3D render and was highly repre-sentative of what the interior space would become.

CHONGQING SUPERTOWER HIGHRISE
&KRQJTLQJ&KLQD6SULQJ6XPPHU
The Supertower Highrise is a multitower mixed use development that acts a beacon of commerce and culture for the city of Chongqing. Throughout the course of this project, I have had the oppor-tunity to work on many different elements of the project. I spent a few long days modeling the tower mullions in Rhino so they could be sent to a fabri-cator to create this presentation model. I was able to familiarize myself with the project by coloring a site plan and elevations (shown on adjacent page). As these elements were constantly changing, and it was my responsibility to update them, I was able to gain a well rounded awareness of the towers’ and podium’s progress throughout the project.

CHONGQING SUPERTOWER PODIUM
&KRQJTLQJ&KLQD6SULQJ6XPPHU
I have spent the majority of my experience at Kohn Pederson Fox Associates, developing vari-ous elements of the commercial podium that rests at the base of the three towers. I’ve have played EWMKRM½GERXVSPIMRGVIEXMRKMRXIVEXMSRWSJHIWMKRWfor the podium’s storefront.
