A Maker’s SpaceA house for a single artist or sculptor by the riverside of downtown Galt . The house is set into a flood-retaining hill that is echoed with the gesture of inviting retaining walls.
The tactile experience of drafting and sketch-ing by hand is, to me, important to design .

The Urban Lanternin collaboration with January Chen, Sydney Shilling, and Mayuri Paranthahan
A housing complex on “junk space” between buildings in Cambridge . The build-ing is used as an opportunity to shape the space and create intimate moments in narrow alley-like spaces, and, influenced by the Moriyama House by SANAA, mesh landscape with lifestyle . The building can act as a literal beacon, signalling safety and a powerful connection between residents .

_ground floor planThis method of representation was inspired by Virginia Fernandez’s thesis work, where she put together collages of social spaces to support her ideas .

The Conservatory
As a response to a long, rectangular site of ‘junk’ space near the corner of St. Clair Avenue and Northcliffe Boulevard, Toronto, we created a library where people can gather to showcase their work and observe the work of others . Knowledge is shared in the backdrop of a library, while the robot-ics workshop -- a “hacker’s lab” -- on the second level provides a practical workspace . The third level is an open space for contemplation; a reward for scaling the ramp lined with shelves .

Snowy OasisThe creation of a temporary cold-climate shelter as an ex-ercise in environmental design . A looping wall provides a windbreak and slate floors collect the heat from southern sun during the mornings .

Steel Shelterin collaboration with Eden Canon
A large bus shelter is created using recycled steel members and aluminum cladding . It is as much a functional object as it is a scup-tural installation .

SIDEWALK
Our goal with this installation was to take an ordinary domestic space -- in this case an ordinary living room, and transform it into a space of wonder and craft . This is done through two simple moves: the displacement of all excess furniture into a storage space and the addition of a canopy of fabric disolving along the walls .Through the action of taking the fabric scraps off the walls and sewing them to a quilt, the nature of the space changes as a direct and tangible response to
