Outlining I finally completed this project which including 3 MV in a movie.

I hope to make movies and music supplemented with each other as a whole

and separated as a MV of these 3 songs respectively. At first, I was just

considering to shoot a music movie, for this reason, I chose 3 airy songs

in slow rhythm. In order to match music, the script was designed to tell

a story about 2 girls how to meet each other, make friends in the

coincidence and finally separated after graduation. Three MV consist the

movie about friendship.

In many films＄editors make the screen gray or gray yellow＄to express

an old background, and it could also be widely used to show people’s

memories. But in my work＄the use of screen color is on the contrary. The

screen colors will be decided in accordance with the emotions of the

leading lady expressed, rather than the time line in traditional approach.

To the leading lady, the memories are sweet＄so I suppose to use

bright-color to draw the sense. While the present live is sorrow,

therefore black and gray will be addressed.

As for the style of my movie, I would like to use simply plot to

express the deeply meaning, express the innermost feelings of actress by

adjusting the color. On the one hand, it can beautify the effect of MV.

On the other hand, it also highlights my ability of coloring. During the

process, I found it’s not effective to deepen the effect on viewers only

adjusting the color because of the simply plot. Consequently, I was

considering modifying some plot in the following 2 MV and making it rich.

I will complete this project including the previous compiling

scripts, shooting few material, editing and producing the specially

effect in the later period all by myself. It benefits me a lot through

completing this project independently. I had to consider every detail in

this MV such as the content of the MV, the meaning, the connection of

graphics and the use of coloring. I believe it can proof my ability and

I would be qualified to do some work on digital media when I had completed

this project.

Artists and Influences The reason why I want to present my movie in this way is motivated

by three aspects as follows.

The first one is from movies. It recognized people the prototype

of micro movie by a movie named 9a bun murder:. This micro movie was

rapidly spread on the Internet .It can be seen that the micro movie was

accepted and popular gradually.

Since the micro movie 9Old boys: was praised by most young person,

the micro movie was becoming a hot cake which attracted lots of online

video websites’ attention.

The micro movie is also called lithography. It generally describes

a movie last for relatively short time which is probably dozens of seconds

to 20 minutes. And in most occasions, many stories are reflecting on only

one theme. The micro movie also contains all the element of movie: time,

place, character, the theme and plot. In addition, it includes many themes

such as humor, whimsy, fashion, education, business and so on. It can be

a separate movie and also can be series. It shows outstanding from mass

of traditional advertising and movies by wonderful story and shocking

pictures that makes person feeling fresh. On the view of audience, the

micro movie was popular by the mainstream crowds for its advantage of short

time, the colorful content and easily spread through video website, mobile

phones, TV and other new media.

The reason why I want to choose the micro movie to finish my project

is for the characteristic of the micro movie. It’s what I really want.

Firstly, the short time is beneficial. I can control my movie in a song

of time. Secondly, the low cost and the not too high request of photography.

Thirdly, the topics are mostly from life. As I am oversea student, the

most actress or actors are students around me. They don’t have enough

experience on acting that requires the plot close to life. It exactly fits

for the character of micro movie.

The second is the music movie by the singer of Jolin. The Taiwan

singer Jolin’s album 9Spy J: was a great shake since produced. It ranks

the first place in sale and in the top list of favorite songs for couple

of months. In fact, the music is not the helper for its success. Though

there was no special feeling about any song in this album, the MV 9Spy

J: was impressive. This is the magic of micro movie.

I was inspired by Jolin’s Music Video. The Music Video consists

of three different chapters. that not only connect to each other＄but also

have their independent stories into one line. Here are the links of her

About my work＄my idea is also the same. Similar to this piece of

art, my project is going to present you a Music Video consists of three

stories as a micro movie.

In this semester, I’ll complete the second Music Video, which tells

a story of two friends being separated at the graduation years. The Music

Video emphasized sweet memories of the leading lady and after the

separation how they missed each other.

The third inspiration is sourced from the Banjun Drama produced

by SBS in Korea. Banjun Drama is a short drama of variety show played every

Sunday. It consists of two stories, each of which lasts about 20 mins and

is independent from one another. Many famous singers and stars are invited

to present this program. Though the Banjun Drama is in the form of TV plays,

they are actually a kind of micro movie.

A story of Banjun Drama is only 20 minutes more or less, but each

is a separate story with a great variety of plots, involving all kinds

of drama stories, family love, love, friendship, fantasy, detective story,

mystery, ghosts, funny and touching plots, accident stories and so on,

and these stories often have very surprising endings. That is what I am

enlightened. I want my MV to be dramatic in order to strengthen the

audiences’ appeal. I was inspired after watching these kinds of drama

and I would also like to modify my third story to make it to be a Banjun

Drama. I am going to overthrow the character set of two secondary female

leading roles, make her become a calculating cheater from a kind and

sensible girl.

By combining these three aspects, I decided to shoot a music micro

movie as my graduation project.

Target Audience The audience to whom I wish to aim my video is mainly at anyone

interested in video as an art form or anyone who prefers to work at this

area. And I hope that future employers can see my video at network or any

other channels to know my professional skills, and creativity.

Furthermore, if I can get the professional guidance from the Practitioners,

for me is also a great help.

Technical Problems

Since I plan this work at the beginning of this term, I got a lot of

ideals in my mind. Yet in the actual implementation, I met plenty of

problems, such as how to express an intense feeling through color

adjustment. Being limited by conditions, it is impossible to carry out

color process of the background of all pictures. Hence, I could only rely

on the later stage editing in order to adjust the picture colors. However,

this would cost much time and energy, while the picture effect may also

be influenced negatively. After reposted attempts, the effect after color

adjusting was still undesirable. Thus I need to find better ways for color

adjustment. In addition, with respect to the special effect, as I am not

able to use animation editing software, some special effect conceived in

my mind could not be actualized. I could only use premiere to do some simple

processing. This to some extent also reduces the sense of beauty of the

whole MV. I fully understand that on the way of digital media, I still

have a long way to go, while there are so many facets to be improved and

learnt by me.

Works I have translated the lyrics of the three songs＄when I have done

my Music Video, I’ll show the lyrics both in Chinese and English, to help

audiences to understand the story that is described in the songs＄when

they are watching it.

This part of work is a linker between part one and part two,

therefore the story is relatively sample. The stream of consciousness will

be used to give some probable emotional impressiveness to the audiences.

Future Plans

In the future work, I will mainly focus on the following three

perspectives to finish this music micro movie.

First of all, to further improve this movie based on the previous work.

By now, only the preliminary editing and cutting of this MV are finished.

Seeing from the current situation, the primary effect of the movie picture

is not as good as expected. The picture content is dull and simple, along

with the slow rhythm, making the whole MV unattractive to the audience.

Therefore, I plan to further improve the colors of the picture, and add

some lens additionally so as to reinforce the sense of rhythm of the whole

movie.

Secondly, to modify and adjust the MV significantly, including

revising the story plots of the third song, changing the relationship

between the two characters from friends to rivals in love, hence the loose

drama plots will be attractive again as the heroine has always been

cheating by the second leading role. Finally, the movie reveals that the

second leading role’s care and concern giving to the heroine is actually

a conspiracy for the goal of gaining the heart of the heroine’s boy friend.

The whole fancy story became a great deception. Finally the audience will

suddenly be enlightened, and the whole movie’s dramaticism is

reinforced.

Thirdly, to watch more short videos and MVs which are received wide

praises and good comments, accumulate more experience. With reference to

the excellent works, even a lens or a funny plot, they will be helpful

to me. Then I will find out if some further improvements can be made as

much as I can.
